View from the HGVC or bHC Balcony

I don't remember the room number, it was something like 3810 or 3820 if I remember correctly (I was there in 2023). Very top floor. There are 5 penthouse floors at the GI, but only 3 or 4 PH resort view rooms. I thought it was 4, but only 3 are listed for booking. The bottom floor resort view room is the lounge.
Grand Islander penthouse 2 bedroom RESORT view is Room 3506, 3606, 3706, 3806. Even though there are 5 penthouse floors, the 34th floor room is the penthouse lounge. Breakfast til 9:30 am - bagels, toast, fruit slices (cantaloupe, pineapple, papaya), yogurt, hard boiled eggs. Beer & wine evening refreshments 5:00-7:00 pm. When you first arrive, drop your luggage with bellman and proceed to 34th floor lounge to check-in for room keys.

It’s hard to beat this time of year … Grand Pacific Palisades 3BR third floor unit.

Are the people walking on the path below you on resort property or is that part of the Flower Fields?

We’re headed to Marbrisa Friday and if we arrive before sunset (hopefully), I’m planning on walking along Armada. Just looking at Apple Maps it looks like the sidewalls extends from near Karl Strauss and all the way behind the resort. We may hit KS for dinner Friday night.

On our last trip my wife and I did an unplanned walk from Marbrisa to KS and back. Definitely worked off some calories.

That’s a public pathway which runs from KS to the Armada street overlook and down to legoland drive. You can walk on the Marbrisa Legoland trail to Legoland Drive to Armada (by GIA) and pick up the path on Armada and then all the way along the top of the flower fields in front of GPP all the way to Karl Strauss. We’ve done it. But then you eat and drink and have to get back 🤷🤣😂

That’s kinda what we did last time, without intending to. We had initially walked over to the Crossings to have a drink and a light bite to eat, but found out they had some private event going on. We walked down the hill to Palomar Airport Rd and then up Armada to KS. On the way back I thought we could get through one of the parking lots between Fleet and Legoland Dr, but there was a pretty large drop off that wasn’t apparent on Apple Maps.

Extra steps=extra calories burned! At least, that’s what I told my wife. I didn’t realize that path extended so far behind the resort. Looks like there are still some blooms to view.

Flamingo Beach HVC St. Martin

We stayed at Divi Little Beach and drove by Flamingo beach HVC to check it out.

Again small beach and pool compared to Divi. This is our second year at Divi. I will post a few pictures of Divi in the next posting just for you to compare

Divi Little Bay Resort St. Martin

Beaches and pools are wider/big
Today is their Carnival/parade day!

I would definitely recommend Divi over the other two HVC’s. You have the whole bay to yourself. BTW the grand bay is right next door where all the cruise ships dock. We had a 2 BR ocean front room with RCI using 7680. HGVC points + exchange fees + $150 in energy and resort fees. Thought I will post few Pictures of the grand bay and the carnival from today….IMG_1639.jpegIMG_1653.jpegIMG_1640.jpegIMG_1627.jpegIMG_1626.jpegIMG_1623.jpegIMG_1624.jpegIMG_1625.jpegIMG_1622.jpegIMG_1663.jpeg

Hokulani Waikiki room 710, right up front overlooking Kalakaua Ave. Maybe you can see the rainbow between the buildings. I want to see the new Ka Haku but it's hidden behind the building with the alien spaceship crashed on the roof.

This was taken July 2025 from the penthouse terrace at West 57th St. We return this weekend for our usual studio view.

Half Manhattanhenge from the corner of 6th Avenue and W57th. We'll try a few other spots next time to see if we can get better pictures - the hill west of us and the buses and trucks impacted our scene setting ability. It was supposed to be a half Manhattanhenge today with the sun aligned with the streets when half of it is visible, but it looked to me like alignment occurred with only about a quarter of the sun visible. Might have been because of the hill. Tomorrow (June 29, 2026) is supposed to be a full Manhattanhenge, with the sun completely aligned just before setting, but they're predicting some cloud cover so I'm not sure how good the photos @brp manages to get will come out. We're off to the opera a bit too early to try again this trip. Fortunately we own this week and will get to try again next year - there's also a Manhattanhenge on July 11 & 12 as the sun transitions south from the summer solstice.

Full Henge was a complete bust. I was down on 57th and kept crossing the street. The view was great, but too many clouds. I did take a couple of pictures at "the time" since the camera has wider range than our eyes and might have seen something. But nothing. Just a very nice and clear view of cloudy skies.

And hi right back at'cha @Eric B

Cheers.
