I know in the past, (this was like 5 years ago so who knows) Vidanta NV had an order sheet from Wal-mart for select items you could order and they'd deliver and put in your room.

Anyone know of any other local grocery stores that would deliver to Vidanta?

And, does Vidanta still do the "you must drop off at main entrance and you go pick up the groceries"?

We're looking mainly for alcohol, and breakfast type food. Most of our lunches/dinners will be on resort.

Thanks!

I saw something on the VIdanta App, but not sure if that was just from the grocery in the building with the stores or Mega or Le Comer. You could call the resort and ask. We tend to check in and then take a taxi to LeCcmer or Mega and get what we think we will need for the week and bring it back to tour room. If you take a taxi instead of using the free transportation, you can go to the grocery before going to the resort. You would need to ask the taxi driver what the extra fee is. When we have done this, one of us stays in the taxi with our stuff and the other shops and brings the groceries to the taxi.

Actually, he grocery there is not too expensive - especially when you factor in a taxi fare The bakery has amazing pastries! They do have a good selection of alcohol.

So I emailed the resort. They no longer offer the Wal-Mart delivery service. Only grocery delivery from La Plaza (their onsite store). So we'll see what the pricing is, etc. I'll probably have to check the wal-mart online site (not sure if they sell alcohol). I know last time we used La Plaza it was a tad pricey (especially meats) but then again it was like $20 USD/person round trip for the shuttle to the Marina store (can't remember the name) or thereabouts. I'm picky about my yogurt (haha) and the neice/nephew are picky about their peanut butter (I remember in Cabo my sister basically told them they'll like what they were giving--haha)

I just wasn't terribly keen on being up at 5:00 a.m. and getting in at like 3:00 p.m. and then having to stop and do shopping along the way.

Two years ago when we had six people on the trip, I was quoted $13 USD equivalent for a taxi driver to take me from Vidanta NV to Walmart, wait for me to get groceries, and then take me back. I tipped another $10 USD equivalent, but that's still a good deal if you are there for a whole week. We saved well over $100, and had more choices than at La Plaza, but a big part of the price difference was the liquor which was up to four to five times the Walmart price at La Plaza.

But the other two trips with just 2 of us, we simply stopped at the liquor store on the way from the airport and bought our groceries at La Plaza as Walmart was not worth the trip.

And no, we don't drink way too much liquor. Liquor is just that expensive at La Plaza, and it was vacation time afterall.

Also, its 5 o'clock everywhere, am I right?

Someone could bring their favorite PB in their suitcase, :) Yogurt is a different story. Sounds like a trip to LeComer is in your future. :) LeComer is like the "old" Mega and we like it better. In the NV/Bucerias area, they are across the street from one another.

PS - How is your Dad? I loved meeting him.

In NV, we order our groceries from Wal-Mart in advance online. You can schedule a pick-up. That way we can get groceries for our whole group for a week or two in under 15 minutes in the store. Then back to vacation!

Yes, I think I can bring some alcohol as well, LOL.

Dad's doing very well. He wants to go back to Buganvilias again this December, but not sure yet with all the ongoing constant changing restrictions/etc. We miss all the street walking and excellent food!

Thank you for asking, we had a great time and enjoyed meeting you and your hubby.

Oh, I never even thought about that. What an excellent idea!

Point being who wants to waste a day of vacation schlepping groceries? When someone asks for grocery delivery, they are aware of the existence of taxis and Walmart, they are beyond that and want convenience of providing someone with a list and having a delivery while they sun at the pool. La Plaza on property has more than you could ever need for groceries unless you are making full blown dinners on vacation. Not high priced either. Coffee creamer, milk, juices, fruit, cereal, tortillas, cheese, ham, beer, sodas, yogurts, chips, cookies… basics. Impressive selection of groceries. The separate pastry and candy shoppes are spectacular.
