Hello all, I’m hoping someone can help me with the price of the resort fees. I’m booking a getaway in a 1 bdrm. Before I moved to the purchase page there is a page that states resort fee/energy surcharge us USD 600. For those who have been there is this really $600 for the week?!

Yep, 600 for the week. Vidanta owners were getting angry that they paid tens of thousands to buy and then high maintenance fees to use that ownership while you and I waltzed in on an exchange for nearly nothing.

Grand Bliss is lovely. Well done units and central to everything in the resort when compared to Grand Luxxe. Worth the resort fee to us. We are checking in Sunday!

As you said - in NV the Grand Bliss is central . It is also closer to La Plaza then any of the GL buildings.
This means a shorter walk to get Pain au Chocolate and the Frozen Yogurt !!
[well worth $ 600 ]

Most Vidanta weeks in exchange companies are developer weeks.

IMO - Vidanta is charging a resort fee on exchanges to add revenue to their " hotel side operations" that would come from owner MF in other systems.
In 2005 Vidanta started selling MF on use only contracts. This means all weeks not booked by owners have no revenue unless filled thru other means.
Vidanta wants exchangers for their Vida Sales machine but exchange companies are (IMO) not a source of meaningful revenue ( unless you buy)
The resort fee (IMO) provides operating revenue to the "hotel side " .

Vidanta resort fees for RCI and II vary by location and unit size. They are the same across brands at a location. NV & RM have Grand Bliss

Nuevo Vallarta
$ 250- hotel room/ studio (locked off bedroom of a two bedroom)
$ 600-one bedroom
$ 950-two bedroom

Riviera Maya
$ 200- hotel room/studio (locked off bedroom of a two bedroom)
$ 450- one bedroom
$ 700 - two bedroom

Resort fee on GB with SFX is 75$...

I'll do a resort review after I get home, but we are really disappointed in the combination of less service and higher costs for EVERYTHING. When I say less service, I mean they've stripped out most of what we enjoyed.

We too paid tens of thousands of dollars for our timeshares and we have very high maintenance fees!! None of our timeshares charge resort fees, nor do they not let exchangers use certain amenities.We stopped exchanging to the GL because of this.
