Victoria Inner Harbor

Arrived yesterday. We have a beautiful corner room with a great view. We are heading out to do some walking tours. This is a beautiful place.

We are headed up to the Olympic National Park in August and thought about a day trip to Victoria, BC, is a day enough to hit a few sites and get a good meal?

I stayed at the Empress three years ago. Flying in by seaplane from Seattle drops you off within walking distance of some nice hotels, and the coach from the ferry does as well (I came in by ferry and left by seaplane). The city is so lovely and walkable, the museum is pretty good. I just wandered around town and found excellent food on outdoor patios. Definately going back some day.

Eta: I had business in Vancouver and then in Seattle, so I shoehorned this vacation in between. I only spent one night... which is how I could afford the Empress! I was very happy with my one night stay, but I did get most of both days on either side.

I would have liked more than two nights in Victoria but we crammed a lot into this trip. We only had a little more than two hours at Butchart gardens. We did it with a tour that brought us to Vancouver on the ferry. We did three of the recommended six self guided tours in Victoria. One day would be better than none. We were at the Marriott Inner Harbor in Victoria and are now at the Marriott Pinnacle in Vancouver for a week. Love those Marriott reward points! We are headed to an RCI timeshare near Banff next week. This is a beautiful part of the world!

Thanks David. We went on the pink bus hop on hop off today. Yesterday we walked part of the sea wall and hope to do more of that Monday. We are headed to Whistler tomorrow on a tour since we don't have a car yet. We had lunch at Chill Winston's in Gastown yesterday and lunch at Bridges on Granville Island today. It is so great to have cool weather. The city is absolutely beautiful. We are wowed at every turn. We leave here and head to Banff next Wed. We are doing some touristy things that we don't normally do, but we want to get as much out of the trip as possible. We have some beautiful pictures and memories!
