VGC through RCI Points?

Hi all :hi:

I am in the planning stages of an October trip to DLR this year and wanted to know the likelihood of being able to get a VGC unit through RCI Points.

And if it is possible, when I should start stalking RCI Points, lol.

Any input would be much appreciated!
 
I haven't seen anything in RCI points for VGC for well over a year. It's not going to happen. Even DVC owners have a difficult time getting nights, so giving RCI VGC is something DVC doesn't really do much. Gotta keep the owners happy.

Oh! That is so disappointing (but understandable) to hear!

Followup question for you - do you think I have a chance of getting Peacock Inn or Dolphin Cove?

Peacock Suites is fairly easy to get, but I don't know if the banking has happened for October of 2014 yet.

If I were you, I would look at renting Peacock Suites from a Shell owner, or buy Shell yourself. I love Shell Points and Peacock Suites. The units are very nice.

My favorite near Disneyland is the Wyndham/ WorldMark resort. You might have a good shot at that one. Dolphin's Cove is also offered through RCI often.

Enter an ongoing search and wait it out for all 3 Anaheim RCI resorts. I think October will be fairly low points for anything you get.

There was a recent bulk deposit from Dolphins Cove for 2015 in RCI weeks. Some availability for all months except June & July 2015. Lots of October weeks in 1 & 2 BR...even one in a 3 BR.

But that's for NEXT year, not 2014.

Thank you! I picked up a deposit for May 2015. Will still hold out hope for Oct 2014, but it looks EXTREMELY unlikely!
