Would like to hear your opinions of these shows:
Jersey Boys
Donny/Marie
Elvis
Love

Best place to get tickets?
If we wait to get tickets at discounter the day of show, will any of the above be available?

Saw Love on 31 October, very good show. Cirque du Soleil was running a promotion through the end of October and we got their cheapest seat for $50. The show was not crowded, they closed off the cheap seat sections and offered any open seat. Could have sat in the front row if we wanted to but we chose to sit about 15 rows back so we could look down on the stage.

I've seen only one of the four shows--Jersey Boys--and it's one of the best shows I've ever seen. Loved it! I think the best place to get tickets would be at the Palazzo box office. I haven't seen them discounted--there may have been a locals promotion before, but not sure.

I've heard good things about the other three shows. I seriously doubt that tickets would be available at the half-price locations.

Donnie & Marie

Just saw the Donnie & Marie show. It was fantastic. Highly recommend. Make sure Flamingo does not give you seats with back to the stage. You are seated at tables and some seating is less than desirable.:)

We got discounted tickets for Jersey Boys from the half price tickets booths that are scattered along the strip. (We went to the one near PH Towers, but you could go wherever is most convenient to where you are staying. They will all have the same inventory).

We saw Jersey Boys in New York City in August and liked it very much. I assume the Las Vegas show is pretty well the same.

Not necessarily. Most Vegas versions of Broadway shows have been edited down so that, instead of taking two hours plus intermission, they can be presented in a single act of less than 90 minutes.

I believe that Jersey Boys is the complete version. (I have the Broadway cast recording all the songs were included in the performance we saw). They also took an intermission for the show in Vegas.

We saw Elvis show at the Aria in October. It was very good, I love Elvis music. I still want to see LOVE.
We alos saw Vegas, The Show at PLanet Holloywood. It is a good show too, not a cirque show, not as grand of scale but very entertaining.

You are right. We have seen several shows in Las Vegas and several in New York. The typical Las Vegas show is 75-90 minutes vs 120+ in New York. The New York shows are also less expensive and generally higher quality.

A typical Vegas show/adaptation is actually no more than 86 minutes. Why? Because at 87 minutes the cast can only work 4 shows a week. So they need two casts for 6 days a week. At 86 minutes they can work the 6 shows, and if they are "dark" one day a week, then that takes care of it. I don't know how they came to the figure of 86 minutes, but that is the rule. And that is why so many shows are shortened/adapted for Vegas.

Speaking of Vegas shows, did you guys hear that Steve Wynn just upped the price of a Garth Brooks ticket to $225. plus let, (entertainment tax) a total of $253. a ticket. He puts on a good show, but I don't know any locals who will go for that price. I guess Wynn doesn't care. That's one of the largest increases in a show ticket at one time here, ever.

Donny/Marie seating

Donny/Marie
Does anyone know if seats Main Floor, Section B Rear, 48:3 and 48:4 are good seats? We will have guide dog in training with us, so may not have a choice.
