Marriott Vacation Club Points
Hi everyone, new owner here. Just wanted to know from those with experience how much value per point do you find is “typical”? I did some searches on Marriott for the same property during the same period for the closest room I can find in the point chart for resorts and generally find it to be about $0.6-$1.4/point. For the destination escapes they are of great value at as high as $3-4/point. Are these numbers about right?

I’ve also seen people in this forum reporting when they go to one of the sales presentation and were offered x DC point or 100x Bonvoy points and seems that most chooses the Bonvoy points. If we value Bonvoy points at around 1c/point, that would mean DC point is valued at less than $1/point in this choice. Is that the general consensus?

Not trying to make a return on my purchase of TS as I know that’s not the point. But just want to get a general feeling. Thanks a lot!

Offer I got for a Virtual tour was 300 DC points or 25k points.
300 DC will get me a night in a studio at timeshare or a night in a Category 4 hotel. Easy choice for me.
Dollar value can be off because someone was talking about how much value they were getting from Bonvoy points because they were able to book a $500/night room (just regular room) for just 60,000 points.
It was a courtyard. I noticed it was close to a timeshare where I could get a week getaway on IO for $700. So if you used the $500 as basis that is a great deal but if you realize that the price is way too high than not as good.
I value more based on where I plan to go in next two years and what I need.
Finally another way to value is, I could use those points and convert my DC points to resort credit so it is an actual dollar amount associated.

Thanks! The DC points to resort credit is 350 points for $110, seems a poor value though...
