I have some points listed on VacationPointExchange.com and would like to become a verified seller. I have emailed the site numerous times with all the requested information to verify my ownership. I just need to know how to pay the registration fee, but I can not get a reply from the emails with the verification information. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have used the site to both purchase and sell rental points and is the only site I consider safe, but I cannot figure out a way to contact them.

@StevenTing can help you. You basically use the donation function to pay the fee. Just note that it’s for verified seller payment.

Thanks Steven. I just had time myself to get back and see the replies. Thanks all

I see that VPE now requires rental posters to be Verified in an effort to curb the recent scam issues. Kudos Steven. 👍
Seems like a good move. Many cynics would say it is just a money grab  but we know better. There has been a bunch of scam listings and this seems to be the best way to curb them.

It was just getting to be too much. Sad thing is all of the recent scammers were US IP addresses. I pretty much blocked all IP addresses outside of the US from being able to login. There were some ads I suspected were scams but you never know. But some of the recent scammers were getting pretty elaborate with references and FB profiles. However, there were red flags like sending to a Zelle/Venmo/PayPal to a name that didn't match the person they were chatting with. Or even the email address "name" not matching who they represented to be.

So, it had to be done. I wanted the site to be free, but it looks like costs will now have to be carried by sellers. We lasted 12 years before we had to force people to be verified.

I wonder if those US IP addresses weren't via the use of VPN? The scammers always adjust their tactics.

I hope there's a way for legitimate non-US sellers to use the site. I successfully rented points (via VPE) from an owner in France last year, twice, and everything went smoothly. So there are legit non-US sellers on the site.

Dealing with (and trying to block/dissuade) the scammers has become a big problem everywhere, I'm sorry you are having to deal with it too.

Steven, thank you for your recent change. A red flag for me was anyone that joined within the last 2 weeks. I check for point rentals all the time and I recognize names from past ads and some who keep their username the same as the TUG username. This and of course anyone verified makes me more comfortable. My rule for renting points is no different than renting weeks from owners or renting my owner weeks, I need to speak with them on the phone. I rented from someone in Europe when I had to wire money. I spoke with the person and felt comfortable doing this.

Steven, again thank you for the change and maintaining VPE

Thank you Steven for all you do and have done. Used it both ways in the past and if I'm making money or getting points I need, don't mind one bit paying.
