Just got this email - anyone with some insights into this deal?

Dear Vacation Village Resorts Owner,

I hope this email finds you well. I'm Caroline Shin, CEO of Vacatia, and I'm thrilled to share some exciting news with you. We've recently acquired Vacation Village Resorts and Daily Management, bringing together the best of our worlds to serve you better.

What makes the combination of our companies so special is how our different strengths complement each other perfectly. Vacation Village Resorts and Daily Management bring decades of hospitality excellence and a deep understanding of creating memorable vacation experiences. Bringing the two companies under the same umbrella will only improve how we service you going forward. Meanwhile, Vacatia contributes cutting-edge technology solutions and innovative approaches to vacation ownership. By uniting these strengths with our shared commitment to exceptional service, we're creating an even stronger organization that can serve you better than ever before.

Rest assured, the same team that has been servicing you will remain intact. As we integrate our operations, we will be working hard to bring you new enhancements to elevate your ownership and will provide ongoing updates beginning with your next Owner Newsletter coming out in early ‌March!‌

Stay tuned for exciting updates about what lies ahead as we work behind the scenes to make this partnership deliver even more value for your vacation ownership.

Thank you for being part of this new chapter. Together, we're building something exceptional and look forward to serving you and your family for many years to come.

Best regards,
Caroline Shin

Vacatia recently purchased Berkley Group, which was the “parent” company for Vacation Village timeshare properties. The “PR Rah Rah”correspondence you have received is legitimate (albeit thin in actual substance), but what this acquisition will mean for VV owners down the road remains to be seen.

Vacatia has managed Gold Point in Breck well. I have friends who stayed there and said it was fantastic.

Even before the acquisition by Vacatia, we noticed a reduction in Vacation Village At Parkway availability via RCI's bargain reservation categories (Bonus Weeks, Last Calls, 7 Nights For 10,000 Points & Below). Plus, there's zero Vacation Village At Parkway availability via Armed Forces Vacation Club.

Could that somehow be connected with Vacatia's takeover? Or is is just 1 of those things?

Armed Forces Vacation Club always had The Grandview Las Vegas available going back years. Then about two months before the sale was made public they have had 0 listings and it seems to be staying that way. I really like Grandview because of access to the South Point Casino.

I'm sure it will mean huge discounts for all owners, since consolidation always results in more efficiencies and lower costs of ownership.

j/k

I guess we'll see in the next Owner Newsletter in March how badly we're about to get raked over the coals.

It had already resulted in the loss of VV affiliates like Massanutten where a discounted exchange fee of $159 was available.

I received the letter also. I wonder if it will make it easier to sell a Vacation Village unit?

Unlikely. You could hope for a “softening” of VV‘s historically tough stance on accepting “deedbacks”. Maybe that’s also unlikely, but hope springs eternal.
