I am wondering if anyone else is having a problem. We have not had Service all day. The app won’t run. I have had weird problems before. Once I had to remove other apps before this one would run, but this is bad as we are getting this for local channels and golf channel. This is my husbands only entertainment. I have been on chat twice today and they say they are working on it.

Do you mean YouTube?

No issues, been working great

I don't have YouTube TV, but just use regular YouTube all the time. No issues here on app or desktop.

Dh is at home...I'm traveling but he texted me tonight that the local channels aren't on that news from other areas of the state are all he can get. I guess it's good to know it's not just our tv

I get nothing the app won’t open error message

We use YouTube TV daily, and our connectivity has been fine so far. We occasionally have troubles with our streaming services. Our older television isn’t a smart tv, so we use a Roku stick. We have actually worn one out, so check if that is the source of the problem. Have you tried rebooting a modem or router?

Try deleting the app then reinstalling.
this is my plan for today
I have done all the other things, like unplugging, rebooting, Other apps work so it is not the roku.

This is an important piece of information you did not mention. Each of the streaming services creates and maintains versions of their app compatible with each of the platforms (Roku in this case) they wish to support. Since each platform is not the same, each version of a given service's app is different.

Many people are reporting problems with the Roku version of YouTube at the moment. It's not universal, though. Varies with Roku model? Who knows? Different models have different capabilities and the channel programmers may not always accomodate these differences when programming their apps.

Roku support forum: https://community.roku.com/

When problems are confined to a particular Roku channel, it may be that the channel did not install correctly, has received a faulty update, or has subsequently gotten corrupted. A reinstall of the channel to get its latest version may fix the problem, so give it a try. Remove/reinstall procedure:
  1. Highlight channel on home screen.
  2. Press * key on the Roku remote and choose Remove channel option. [Note: If this channel is one for which you have a paid subscription through Roku, there will be a "Manage subscription" option instead. Click this and cancel your subscription. (It will continue to run for the rest of the prepaid subscription period, but will not auto-renew at that point. You can resubscribe then if you like.) Now the "Remove channel" option will be shown.] This will remove the channel from ALL Rokus linked to this Roku account.
  3. IMPORTANT- IF YOU SKIP THIS STEP YOU MAY NOT GET A CLEAN RE-INSTALL:
Restart the Roku to clear its memory via Settings > System > System restart. (On a Roku TV, this is Settings > System > Power > System restart.) It's best to do this on ALL Rokus linked to this account before proceeding.
  4. Reinstall the channel to your Roku account via the Roku Home page Streaming Channels menu option. This will install the channel on all Rokus linked to this Roku account.
    Notes:
    • The channel will be will be added to the END of each Roku's channel grid.
    • On other Rokus linked to this Roku account you may need to force an update to get immediate installation: Settings > System > System update.
  5. If channel requires a login, you may need to log in anew.
If the problem persists at this point, it typically means the current version of the channel app has a problem that must be addressed by the channel itself as they are the ones that create the Roku-compatible version of their app and provide it to Roku.

Makai Guy. I looked at the posts on the Roku support and see that many people have the same problem I get YouTube tv through google, not thru Roku account. Don't believe I have a Roku account. right now I am getting one tv to work, but don't know how long that will last going to read through the responses and see if anything works.

YouTubeTV? This is a different app than plain YouTube you've mentioned previously, although they do share lots of bloated app code.

If you're watching on a Roku, you do have a Roku account. You can't stream anything to a Roku without a Roku account. Roku menu path Settings > System > About will show you your account info, identified by email address. It will also show you your Roku model name and number which can be helpful in troubleshooting. But I don't know how any of this is affected when the YouTubeTV account is through a different third party.

Lol. I followed directions and found out one roku is under my six year old grandsons name. I am getting hand me downs from first graders apparently

eight minutes ago, Danny a Roku employee found the solution I was able to get it running again thanks for the link Makai Guy, following the threads in the link showed me how to fix the problem and lets hope it stays fixed.

No problems with YouTube.

I hope you can fix your problems.
