Does anyone have experience purchasing from Redweek? I realize it can be a process, but at least 3 of the weeks listed for sale that are "Redweek Verified" are no longer available when I inquire, but the status is not updated online to indicate a pending sale. Is that normal? My first inquiry was 3+ weeks ago, when I asked for more information, I was told the seller has accepted another offer. That seems to me like plenty of time to update the listing to show it is no longer available. There is no ROFR to wait for so I'm not sure why there is such a delay. Now it's happened same thing on 2 other weeks I've asked about, all of them are "Redweek Verified". I almost feel like it's a bait and switch, where they're keeping the low price listings active, even though they're not available, so that when you inquire about them, they can point you to the more expensive one.

Redweek verified just means that they have verified the unit is owned by the seller.
Status are only "View Posting" or "Sold". There is no "In Process" or pending.
If the listing is not Full Service, it will not show as Sold until seller tells Redweek it has been sold. This is because Redweek is just the listing service; they are not handling the closing process.
Once marked as sold, it cannot return to available - even if escrow falls through. This is why sellers choose to keep listing active until it is really a done deal.

Redweek is not a scam.
When you respond to a posting, Redweek only acts as a middle-man, sending offer to seller and relaying response. Seller may ignore it, which is why you may have not gotten a response. Redweek is only going pass info the seller allows them to pass; Redweek doesn't make the decisions.
If the listing is a Full Service listing, Redweek will be more proactive.

As indicated above, there are only 2 options. I normally will deactivate when the ppwk for closing is on process.

I recently rented 2 TS weeks on RW.

One was verified and the other was not. Both went thru without a problem - of course I won’t get paid for the verified one until the rental date. Not a huge deal since I don’t need the money right away. My verified one was listed as rented automatically iirc.

I have used RW since 2007 w/o issue.

Sometime the owners forgets to deactivate their listing.

Added: saw this was for buying not renting. The reason the unit may still be listed, but not available is because it takes time to close a resale.

Did you communicate with brokers working for Redweek or they were independent brokers?

I like Redweek as a nice place to browse listings but dealing with Redweek Full Service has not been a positive experience.

Initiated the purchase of 5 separate weeks (all Redweek Full Service listings) in Q418. All 5 closed within 90 days and were in my MVCI account. One must remember that in order to close in a reasonable time both the buyer and seller must provide all required and sometimes notarized documentation in a timely manner. It is normally a buyer or seller delaying the process.

i’ve bought two resales and rented a week with RedWeek. None were verified and all went smoothly.

I bought through Redweek last summer. It was rough in the beginning (communication with a new agent), but once that was fixed, it went smooth. The unit we bought was in process when the buyer backed out and we were there to swoop in and purchase it. I would purchase from Redweek again.

I've purchased through redweek and they referred me to a company called Timeshare Escrow and Title LLP. Just wanted to confirm that other people have used them before I wire them the money etc... Always paranoid about email scams etc...

Thanks

We bought from a Full Service Listing. They were using First American Title so Redweek must have switched companies.

I requested to use LT transfers when I purchased from redweek and they let me. They will not recommend because LT is not licensed but will allow it if you request. LT gets many positive reviews here on TUG.

I've used First American a few times for buying and selling. Never had a problem.
