Using RCI to exchange BlueGreen

Hello,

I have timeshares that exchange through II. My friend has a bunch of Bluegreen points that are going to expire. How does that work in RCI. Do you book a week and then deposit it or do you give RCI Bluegreen points for RCI points. She to date has only used her points and not exchanged. Any BG Owners out there that can steer me in the right direction to help her.

Niether. With BG you have what is called a crossover grid. Each resort in RCI is given their own BG point equivalent based on time and unit size. It is very much like using RCI point, but you are using BG points as the currency so the valuations maybe different.

An example would be a resort that I am always looking at Tamarak. Uses something like 50,000 RCI points, but only 12,000 BG points.

Where do you see the availability? in RCI? Do you just call them to make the trade and convert points if something is availabel? Can you put in ongoing searches like you can in interval?

You log into your BG account, and access RCI thru a portal. You then search on RCI as you would on II. When you look at availability, it shows you how many BG points are needed for the trade. Your friend would then confirm the trade online, pay the exchange fee and with a day or two, BG deducts the points from your friends BG account.

Yes, you can put in an ongoing search.

The other option is for your friend to "save" her points with BG - the fee is $35 online ($50 if you call) and she can use her points for an additional year in red/white/blue season (not High Red) or exchange thru RCI for 6 months in the future.
