Using my SDO in RCI to try and grab DVC

I am considering depositing my SDO 1BR 1-52 Float into RCI to try and grab DVC weeks in the future. What is the best way to go about this? Would I be a points member, or a weeks member? Anyone use SDO as an RCI trader?

Do I even have enough power to grab a DVC?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

You would be a weeks member, and you might have enough TPU (trade value) for a 1 bdm., but maybe not a 2 bdm.

Be sure you put in an ongoing request.

Note that you get the blended value of your season, so checking the TPU for holiday weeks will give you are artifically high number - I will check mine later today and see what I get for my 1-52 floating week.

Thanks Denise - I would appreciate that!

Its the Larger 1BR I own if that makes any difference.

Also, if I go with RCI, and I stuck with RCI for this week forever?

No - you can join RCI one year, and then II another, or both at the same time, but of course you have to pay the yearly membership whether you use it or not.

Oops...meant Smaller 1BR...Thinking Smaller...wrote Larger.

I used the calculator from my Dads account and it gave a Trade power of 18. Probably better to use to scoop up 'leftovers' in II since I doubt I would grab any DVC.

Probably a good question for the DVC forum, but whats a good trader for RCI to pick up DVC's? (2BR+)

Thanks again.

18 sounds about right. I think that most Starwood resorts have more value in II.

The truth is that you can't usually get people to reveal their hot traders in an open forum, because it's often the kiss of death. If people find out that a particular resort is a good trader, it increseases deposits, which increases supply, which can decrease trading power. But if you do some searches on the Exchanging Forum, you will find some discussions on that topic.

SDO won't even have enough tpu to get a dvc studio which needs 22 tpu. 1 bedroom needs 32 tpu and 2 bedroom 36. If you deposit 2 1 bedroom, combine the tpu then you can get the 2 bedroom dvc
