Has anyone heard of this offer? It appeared after I logged into My-VacationClub.com. I'm wondering if it apply to resale weeks or just developer weeks that currently can be traded for points only every other year? I tried calling the number but the office is closed for the weekend.

To receive the Marriott Rewards Points Every Year Upgrade offer, the owner must call, initiate, sign and return contract to Marriott Vacation Club no later than July 15, 2009 and current purchase price for timeshare week must be $13,900 or greater. Financing is available to qualified purchasers. Offer subject to change without notice. Expiration date is 7/15/09. Offer not valid in conjunction with any other promotional offer. Offer is nontransferable.

It says in the offer that "Resale inventory not eligible". If it doesnt apply to a resale that Marriott is selling it isnt going to apply to a resale by a third party.

I would interpret that as meaning that inventory that Marriott had that it was reselling for owners would not be eligable for the offer.

Most resorts trade for points every other year. It appears that with this promotion, if you back another week, Marriott will upgrade your old Marriott direct purchase to allow you to trade it for points every year vs EOY. Most likely the scenario is that you would then have TWO resorts that have the ability to trade for points every year

Now, if they included old resale purchases in this upgrade offer, it would bw more tempting to a few owners.
