This is what jumped out to me. This is a pretty short flight for me (direct) and the Myrtle Beach airport looks easy and close. Makes this resort ideal for a long weekend.
Oh yes totally and the rental car access is a breeze right across the street. The resort is 15 mins from the airport.

I own there but havent been back since 2019. Good exchanger and low maintenance fees. I think the location is great. Very quiet. Lovely grounds. The local high school and an independent living residence for seniors across the street. It is basically within a nice residential community with good businesses closeby. Love Croissant Bistro. Big Mikes. Hook and Barrell great. About 1 1/2 miles to beach but depends which beach you want to go to. Easy access to highway and airport
Please tell me you trade with II and not RCI. I don't understand using RCI for Sheraton, when you have $164 exchanges to Marriott/Westin/Sheratons through II.

$299 exchange fees with RCI is such a waste of money, and to get resorts that are sub-par in exchange.

The updates here are so great, but the power-washing needs to be done on our building.

Cannot wait to see them will be there 8/16. Are all the buildings updated? I own plantation phase.

There are some buildings closed that are getting updates, but most everything is updated. I have no idea what is going on with Palmetto buildings, but they are painted a pretty gray and white. Some are still the old yellow, which was always pretty, but I like the neutral tones. Reminds me of Marriott's Cypress Harbour.

The only thing that is not great would be the weird basket things on the wall behind the sofa. Not really attractive.

Rick took a bunch of pictures. I am really bad about copying/ pasting them. I can have him send the pictures to my email.

The updates to the pool are apparently causing anguish to our daughter's clients, who are renting Sheraton this weekend. The family is upset that the octopus is gone from the pool, and the slides are no longer a part of the pirate ship in the kiddie pool, and she is also complaining about floaties not being free. A lot of really minor things, but our daughter says she is complaining to Airbnb and will get a full refund. It's unbelievable.

The beautiful updates to the units would be such a pleasant surprise to me.

She also asked if there is a Keurig in the room. No. Everyone would complain that the resort forced them to buy Keurig K-cups.

Myrtle Beach overall is a tourist trap destination. No different than Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Brandon, Niagara Falls, Orlando. Mini golf, go carts, more mini golf, skitchy souvenir shops.
Wow, same as my opinion. We are so glad when HGVC Hilton Head Island (Ocean Oak) option opened for us. We started going there in 2017 and haven't looked back at Myrtle Beach. But honestly that is just us. There isn't anything wrong with Myrtle Beach (or Gatlinburg for that reason which is a short drive for us), but it just isn't our "cup of tea".

btw, the Gatlinburg and Myrtle Beach have many of the same tourist trap vendors. That is why they seem similar but one is a mountain location and the other a beach location. I wonder now how similar to Brandon (which I haven't been to).

I love the entire Myrtle Beach area. The beach we chose that was close to Sheraton had one other family enjoying the waves and sand.

The little amusement park is so fun, Family Kingdom, I think is what it's called. Really enjoyed watching the grandkids on the rides.

Branson is a great place for us to go to shows, especially Sight and Sound Theater. We haven't been to Silver Dollar City but will do that sometime. The mountain coaster looks fun. We love it there at Christmas and May or October. Too hot for us namby-pamby-dry-weather-is-better Denverites.

Never been to Gatlinburg. I think Myrtle Beach is an amazing place for the family. It's geared to families with kids. And the pool at Sheraton is beautiful and updated.

Great reviews, made me want to make a bid to a small 1-bed here. I’ve read you could split and book a 3- and 4-day short trip, which we are thinking of doing as we are just 2 hr flight away. What is the restriction on this short week booking? Can you do any 3 or 4 days or you have to do a weekend and then an all weekday stay? Or can you even book 2 rooms with 3 days (so you could go with another family)? Guess not but curious how flexible it could be for a deeded week so we are able to plan some weekend getaways. Thanks.

I don't do it, but I know it's a possibility.

My fav restaurant in Myrtle Beach is a family-owned Italian place called Sole. And they’ll make any dish on the menu as a “kid’s meal”— all you have to do is ask.
