When we went to our first update meeting. After explaining we were not going to buy anything new because we hadn’t even used the points we had purchased, they offered us a bonus package. I seem to remember it was around $1,500 for another week long trip.

Has anyone else been offered this deal and did it seem worth the money. We bought a low point EOY package to start with to see if we would use it. We were thinking this may be a good way to add to our vacation plans without adding maintenance fees.

These can be a good deal if you can make them work. The inventory is not the same as the regular, and you have to call, IIRC. But it can definitely be worth it as a way to explore.

Cheers.

You are probably talking about the VIP package, which I believe is 11,200 pts for ~$1699. It will require another sales presentation, so it will be limited to resorts with a sales center.

Or one nearby, presumably? For example, when doing a 3-night package at W. 57th, we went to the Midtown Hilton/HCNY sales location. Similarly for Vegas. I assume that this is still the case?

Cheers.

We own at Elara, but bought in Orlando. I am glad they sold at Elara with the lower MF than Orlando. I am good at saying no and have been thru many presentations before we bought this one. We are at a point this it made sense to give it a try. At our next update opportunity we may check this part out a bit more.

We have a trip to Myrtle Beach for our 25th anniversary in 2025. We were thinking something out west for hiking but my wife had a back surgery and that is out of the question for that time. We are wanting to use our bonus points for Saint Martten in 2026. Availability looks limited there so we may look somewhere else for a great trip.

Just to confirm: you are talking about a one-time-points VIP package here, but you already own at Elara, and bought from HGVC? If so, do consider adding on if this works for you. But look into resale rather than from the developer going forward. Take advantage of what they have to offer at the "updates," but say No and buy resale.

Cheers.

Yes.

I am about 4-5 years from retiring and if things work correctly we will add some re-sale at some point in the future.
