Just an update on what I was told.
Marriott is reclaiming resales being sold for inventory for the past 2 years for Adventuras and they can only offer Adventuras to Marriott only owners or prior owners of Lagunamar or else they have to sell points which they are not looking forward to due to poor value.

Not selling anymore weeks.

Not able to use equity from prior resales that have been enrolled to purchase new. Although WSJ can do this.

They can enroll Marriott weeks bought resale but it will cost 40K or equivalent of 3000 abound points.

The 10K minimum spend to enroll is only for Vistana weeks.

Next year chairman benefit status will change and will include 5 star elite benefits that were lost ie: late check out and early check in.

They know Hello Hotels is poor value and they have told the concierge not to mention it as a reason for the update.

Only 3 encore packages per life time going forward.

Any such limitation they say can always be waived if you are willing to buy something. It is actually, in fact, a good sales tool. If someone thinks they are getting a special deal because the sales person requested a waiver, then they are more likely to buy. The customer needs to think they are getting a deal.

Yes, they offered us a resale WKV Silver week on Thursday. I suspect these are reacquired inventory. They don't have a lot, but there is almost always something out there to use as an angle to make a sale.

We've heard similar limits in the past from the Marriott sales folk. So far we really haven't seen anything instituted.

They always seem to be able to find a spare week somewhere when they're trying to get me to turn an EOY week I own into an EY. The most recent time was, hmm, this past April I think. For the past few years they always act surprised and tell me that they aren't actually selling them any more, but, through some miracle they just happen to have one they could sell me if I want to upgrade.
