I booked a reservation quite a while ago using my HGV points in the RCI portal for Jamaican on the Gulf in December. The resort is currently closed and my reservation is 65 days out. The resort still has no firm date for re-opening.

What are my options with RCI? I'll wait a few days before I call due to the storm but I'm just curious.

You can definitely get your points back because you are more than 30 days out, but you will lose your exchange fee. But then you have to worry about what the expiration date is with HGVC on those points.

I would try to negotiate for a credit on the exchange fee because the resort you booked is more or less unavailable.

RCI’s free cancellation deadline is currently only Oct. 13. I imagine that will roll forward as resorts remain closed.
