Unequal points in same resort...

Hi All -

I just saw someone selling a unit in the same place I've got a unit, same maintenance fee, but they have like 15000 more RCI points per year than me. Is that normal? Was the unit just more expensive to begin with?

Maybe they own a higher demand season or maybe the info they posted isnt accurate.

I think I float all year - I suppose I should check that, since I'm selling it! There was another posting that also had more points than me. Odd.
 
If you'll share the name of the resort, someone might be able to give you some good info...

It's normal if the week is in a different season. More demand season = more RCI points.

A good point. Maybe I have a blue week. I thought I had year round, but I bought so long ago I have forgotten. I'm checking with the resort now to get it straightened out. Thanks all!
 
Or perhaps there were different phases, with different points awarded for each?
 
Sometimes resorts have more than one configuration for a unit with the same number of bedrooms. Sometimes not all possible configurations are listed on the RCI points chart in the directory. For example a resort may have a 1 bedroom with 1 bathroom and a partial kitchen and also have a 1 bedroom with 2 bathrooms and a full or partial kitchen. Each 1 br might get different points.
