Madge,

If I have a credit balance on my account, why does the system not apply it to an exchange HOLD or CONFIRMATION? The system takes the entire exchange fee from my credit card and leaves the balance in my account.

Do I need to call RCI to use the credit?

Why must I do this?

The "rules" are that you must call RCI and they will issue a credit to your card-w/in 3 to 10 days from my experience. That's just the way it is. We sure don't like it either but it's probably not going to change.

I agree with Phil. That's just the way it is. Online transactions require new money.

We've been harping about that for a long time. RCI knows it is a sore point.

We've got a credit balance from redeeming RCI Elite Rewards, and it doesn't even show up online. Guides seem to be able to see it though. Go figure.

Bookkeeping seems to be a bit of a problem with Cendant.

TravelSFO,

Providing a way for our system to identify and use an existing exchange balance online is one of our future initiatives with our website. It requires not only changes to our website, but thousands of programming hours for our mainframe database system. This is what has held up the project thus far.

Watch for the option to request a refund online, and don't hesitate to send a message to feedback@rci.com with TUG in the subject line. The Communications Team can initiate the refund for you as well.
