I have someone telling me that DVC points are good for two years with no reduction in their value after the first year. Is this true? The points systems I'm familiar with have the ability to use pts after the first year but with reductions in their usefulness.

Yes, they can be used for two years. I'm not sure what you mean by "reduction in their usefulness." There are some limitations on how they can be used in the future if you cancel a reservation on short notice.

The Bluegreen system I'm in allows us to "save" points to give an additional years use but they can be used only in regular red, white and blue seasons, noting higher. This is what I mean by reduced usefulness

So you can bank the points? If so, can they then only be used for any resort at 7 months. No more home resort use at 11?

Nope, the usage rules don’t change. If I bank my 2021 points into 2022 they can be used exactly as my 22 points. They just must be completely used by the end of the 22 use year.

In DRI you can transfer your Points forward 1 year. If you transfer all your Points forward and then end of making a Reservation in their original year they pull back just the number of Points you need.

Worldmark Points are good for about 25 months. WM Points are deposited on the first day of your anniversary month. Then they are good until the last day of your anniversary month 2 years later. So about 25 months. Without charge. So Points deposited on August 1, 2021 are good for future Bookings until August 31, 2023. They can be Booked out 13 months. So Points expiring on August 31, 2023 can be Booked into a Reservation in September 2024. Same for House Keeping Tokens. Also you can borrow Points and House Keeping Tokens without charge. So if you work it correctly there is an approximate 30 day period of time you can use 4 years worth of Points.

Right now they are limiting borrowing but historically, and likely in a year or 2, you can borrow and bank and use 3 years points at a time with no additional limitations on the points usage. Once banked or borrowed it's a final event. Certainly things can change, BG hasn't always limited you on banked points. DVC is very flexible for DVC stays but of limited value for non DVC options like Disney hotels, ABD, Concierge Collection or RCI.

Yes, but you have to bank them within the prescribed time for your use year, otherwise they would expire at your next use year.
