I mentioned this in the Zoom Videoconferencing thread. I am organizing a TUG Get Together YouTube Livestream event. Not sure what day or time yet, but probably in the afternoon on Saturday or Sunday. It isn't like people have anywhere else to go, so I am not sure if the time matters. I am thinking of bringing in three other participants in to the live stream, we can also have unlimited participants in live chat through YouTube.
To participate in video, you would need the following;
. We can test out connectivity before the live stream event, but participating on the video is super easy and participating in live chat is even more easy for the camera shy.
To watch and chat, all you need is a computer or smartphone!
To participate in video, you would need the following;
- A laptop or desktop with a webcam and microphone.
- A recent version of Chrome or Firefox.
- A strong internet connection. Just like Skype, you must have a strong internet connection for it to work well. If possible, connect to your router with an ethernet cable instead of using WiFi.
- We recommend wearing earbuds or headphones to prevent audio echoes.
- If you don’t have a laptop or desktop, then you can join on your phone. But the experience is usually best on a laptop/desktop. On Android, we recommend the Chrome browser. On iOS, you must use Safari.
