I put this in for a google search since I'm not at my computer. It appears someone is using the TUG name in their paid advertisement.

https://www.google.com/#q=tug+bbs&safe=off

I'm posting this to alert Tug Brian of this.

doesnt suprise me at all...scammers have been using TUG's name for years to make themselves seem more legitimate.

note that its a paid ad, so they pay each time someone clicks on the link...vs the organic ads below it.

So we should all "click away" in our spare time and run up the scammer's bill? :D

It would be against google policy to do something like that.

I think it would just encourage them to continue to use the name in future ads.

This seems highly illegal to me to hijack the name of TUG in your ads.

ha, they also do it for "timeshare users group"....be sure to report that as well =)

I filed a complaint there as well.

anyone can file a complaint using the original link i posted (if you were so inclined)

I will do that.

Yes, this is a google adwords campaign using tug bbs as a search term:

I submitted 3 complaints. When searching "timeshare users group" two ads came up with the name in them. Donate for a cause also came up but did not use your name in the ad.

This was the third one I submitted. The other two were similar.

This company is using the name "timeshare user group" in the heading of its ad to make you think they are connected in some way with the Timeshare Users Group. The Timeshare Users Group actually tries to educate people to avoid these types of companies when trying to get rid of a timeshare. It doesn't seem right to me that a company can use the good name and reputation of another to further it's business.
