I would love to come, gosh as a near-local, that is the same day our annual Space Coast Birding Festival begins over at Cape Canaveral. Will review their full schedule, once available.
I may be able to make both but must check on when "festivities" begin for the Birding festival that afternoon or evening. We had a fantastic birding festival last year but NONE the year before due to a forecast lack of birds in the area. If anybody is in Central FL for Jan 23-25-25 this is a GREAT opportunity, and you can pick and choose from a variety of events-- typically a dolphin & birding "cruise" of sorts (FANTASTIC-last year, loads of dolphins), plus various other optional astonishingly good other birding/natural sites within 1- 1.5 hours of Orlando..
PLEASE all time-sharers--try to support the local environmental conditions that can make your stays enriched by wildlife in a wide variety of areas.
Everything from supporting "responsible" lighting at night- yes-- that VERY much affects, as migratory birds mainly fly at night (we're talking from robins to geese, on down the line to teeny finches), even your OWN porch light's design to not confuse them as they migrate, to making sure we provide FOOD for the birds via local landscaping and access to insects, local plants, etc... it all matters, but I digress. Our natural bird populations have been declining, seriously. So many of us just love the robins, finches, hummingbirds etc. in summer, but don't think about what goes into their migration and winter needs.
