Which TS are closest? We can exchange in RCI, RCI points, II, TPI and SFX. The shortest distance at a fairly reasonably looking resort (not great, looking for Poconos, PA quality) is sought for this outing. If you have any knoxville hotels or bed n breakfast locations for summer 2009, we'd certainly be interested.

There are timeshares in Sevierville and Crossville. Sevierville would be about 1/2 hour and Crossville about 1 hour. There are more to chose from in Sevierville. I stay at the Wyndham resort there. Very nice. Easy access back to I40.

The Wyndham would definitely be the closest. They are also building another Wyndham even closer. Not sure of the opening date.

Close is relative though. It would be 30 minutes in good traffic times. Longer otherwise.

Are you interested in Knoxville for an event? There isn't really a lot to do there for a vacation. When we have visitors, we recommend any of the Marriott brands out west. There's also a new Homewood Suites.

My sister and family would be attending an event in Knoxville. They would probably be fine with the Gatlinburg area but I wasn't sure which timeshares were physically located closest to Knoxville to minimize the traffic impact. The event is during summer 2009. I'm not sure if summer is the busy season but I'm thinking that it might be.

Bluegreen has the Laurel Crest resort at Pigeon Forge...it is closer than Gatlinburg. It is a nice resort. I stayed there last month. Also, Bluegreen has Mountain Loft in Gatlinburg and it is also really nice.

Summer is a busy season, but the busiest is leaf peeping time. If the event is at the convention center downtown, it's a straight shot out Chapman Hwy to Sevierville. That's the way we go if we suspect traffic will be heavy from the Interstate.

Any of the Pigeon Forge locations would be convenient enough. Gatlinburg resorts would add another 20 minutes to much longer depending on the dates. I can't ever seem to get a handle on when they have the big car shows in Pigeon Forge that REALLY clog the roads.
