Trouble walking reservation

Ah - that was helpful. I was using the home screen of the app. I can now see the reservations using the tools route. Next step is to figure out how to try and change them in the app.

EDIT: Figured it out. It's certainly not a user-friendly app! No luck with availability using the app. I called Club Support and was told that most of the rooms at Elara are down on 11/20 for "Maintenance".

crappy app is more like it...and the My Dashboard rarely loads the reservations. Occasionally, it will populate and it surprises me. Website is so much easier...but sometimes, you have no choice but to use the crappy app...that isn't available on new Android devices. I transferred it from an earlier android device so I have been able to keep it but my wife didn't and it isn't available in the play store for her to download. I contacted CS and they confirmed it....for iOS but not later versions of Android....coming...supposedly.

I have tried a few times on the app to walk a reservation. It is clumsy at best... imo. I always use my ipad to complete the walk.

I always use the desktop version on my iPad when I walk (or my laptop). The app is good for some things, but making and walking reservations is not one of them, at least for me.

OMG, so true. I tried once (well OK, several times) to "change resort" within the app. Yeah, kept telling me there was no availability, yet the same dates were available to book directly. I gave up and just used the desktop site when I got home. BTW, requesting "desktop site" in Mobile (Chrome and Firefox) yielded the same weirdness as the app. Only "real" Desktop worked.

11/21 ended up opening up, I was eventually able to get the 2BD until a 11/22 checkout (Friday) but no luck with Friday night or Saturday night. Anyone else have success with a 2BD or 2BD Plus?

@tah - do you remember when (if) some of these blocked rooms opened up last year?

I'm not sure if the 2BD's opened up. Some other room types did, but last year had significantly more activity during the initial reservation window -- across all LV resorts. This time last year you couldn't make a reservation anywhere for anything. But I see almost all room types available at the other LV resorts and I see a lot of green at Elara (still not ideal with the pockets of no-availability, but better than last year).

For this year I had to abandon my 2BD reservation after it was blocked and went to a 2LK -- that one walked just fine. I'm going to keep my eye on it but it will probably be pure luck if I can catch a cancellation. But I don't think the dust has settled quite yet

I have a theory they put so many rooms in maintenance (as reported earlier) for 11/20 to stymie the walkers. That would have forced everyone wanting to try for an "event" reservation to wait until Sat (11/23) opened a couple of nights ago. As you can see now, 11/20 is wide open. If they did indeed do that I don't know how I feel about it.

That is why you can walk up to the gap and then wait...to see if it fills, then add it.

I'm wondering if it might not be part of their usual maintenance cycle that they take rooms out during the gold period rather than platinum. They may not have adjusted for the fact that F1 is now in town. But of course blocking walkers is always plausible.

I had tried walking a 3LK and made it pretty far, but there is some very strange behaviour where it would add the last day. So I now have a 2LK. Definitely much less competitive this year I feel.

I've been walking a 2BD reservation for the F1 weekend at Elara. Came across this tonight (after 12 am EST) when I tried to add the next day that should be available (11/21).

Can anyone explain how this happens? I have the previous 3 nights (11/17 - 11/20), how is it possible that 11/21 is no longer available? It's not due to Home Week bookings, those start on Fridays. [I also noticed that the 2LP units are not available the night of 2/18, I also can't explain that.]

I am planning on calling Club Support but I believe they are closed on President's day 2/19 so that means the reservation wouldn't have been walked for 2 nights before they are open.

I would refresh the page, and in 5 minutes my canceled reservation would open up space and was able to book a new reservation fwd/back.

was booking the 4 bedroom with the pink infinity room. Once I got my desired 7 days, it was 4 days, and 3 days in separate bookings. I tried to combine them with a phone call - that couldn't be done! When I checked in at the property - they could not combine them! I ended up going down to the lobby to check-out of our room and check back in - and with new key cards. I got the desired stay I wanted... but I swore to myself - NEVER AGAIN. BUT boy was that infinity room beyond cool!

I would refresh the page, and in 5 minutes my canceled reservation would open up space and was able to book a new reservation fwd/back.

how come you couldn't walk 1 reservation the 7 days straight? no availability?

I'm having the same problem this year as reported in this thread, interestingly also on Saturday night of President's Day weekend.

I have a 3 day reservation already. The next night becomes available and shows available on line; I want to modify my reservation to add it.

But when I click "change my reservation" and am taken to the availability calendar, the days I already have do not show as available. The icon showing "Your reservation" does not exist, thus I cannot add the (existing) day to modify my reservation.

This is a glitch, there's no other way to explain not seeing availability for a day in my possession. But it makes walking online impossible.
