While the Marriott Program pushed us to move from a deeded week to a points based interest, we are not sure if we still have a "deeded interest"

We would like to find an attorney to transfer interest from one family member to another.

Any recommendations for a lawyer to handle the "closing"?

Thank you for your replies! TJ

From your description, you enrolled your week into the Marriott points program. Marriott does not "move from a deeded week to a points based interest." You still have your deeded week and can use it as you always have, with the option, on an annual basis to exchange it for DC points.

You can transfer to a family member and retain the DC benefits, but it depends on the level of "family." Others will post about this process, but I'm not sure how your enrollment fits into all of this.

You need a closing agent, not necessarily a lawyer. You might consider LT transfers where they'll do it for most locations for under $200 which is about as cheap as you can do so. The other issue is how close is the family and whether it's a gift or a sale. For most, but not all, Marriott properties Marriott has the right to buy it under the agreed terms and thus they'll take it instead. For a few older properties they do not and if it's truly a close family member and you're gifting it, you may be OK. Depending in the type of family, the points option likely will not transfer. I'm thinking they only transfer the enrolled points option to a child.
