We currently own a 1 bed / 1 bath floating ocean front unit at Pono Kai in Hawaii that we would like to trade in 2010 for a week in western Europe. We have never traded before nor do we belong to a trading group such as II or RCI.

France or Germany in the summer is our first preference. We enjoy the castle and wine regions. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I was also going to suggest SFX. They have a free gold membership. Two years ago I requested Scotland and got a property that met my request exactly. I also have seen great London weeks on their sell-off list. I couldn't say what countries are available but you could call them and ask for guidance.

Good luck.

DAE has done well for me in Europe, and my trades there recently have included the French Riviera in summer, a UK canalboat in summer, oceanfront Croatia in summer, and oceanfront Poland in summer.

With DAE, it is good to use their access to trading partner inventory, which never appears online. Ask to speak with Donita Cilch, who seems to be their master of working with trading partners. They also have a lot of access to Italy, including near Rome, and Austria through trading partners.

Also HTSE has a relationship with the United Kingdom Resort Exchange (UKRE) through which they can get resorts in the UK.
