Trading Sheraton Desert Oasis (SDO)-II

I'm trying to figure out how trading works. I've read some of the info on TUG and would love any links/info you can send my way.

I currently own a true platinum SDO small 1br that I have reserved during March this year (purchased resale). If I'm unable to complete my stay, I BELIEVE I have at least 24 hours before check-in to cancel (?). Then, if I want to trade it into II, can I deposit it anytime during 2022? And I'll have how long to look for a trade?

Side note. Thank you to all of you for the knowledge that has saved so many people money and hurt feelings. We found TUG too late after buying SBP. But since then, have been able to make "better" decisions because of TUG
 
You will have until the end of 2024 to travel on an II exchange.

If you know you aren't going to use it, there is no reason to wait. It doesn't extend your time in II. You have until the end of 2024 whether you deposit your 2022 week on Jan 1, 2021 or the end of 2022. If for some reason you forget or have computer problems at the end of the year you might miss it. I recommend depositing no later than December 20, 2022.
 
I agree with Tracey. The sooner you get it into II and set up an ongoing search ,the sooner you will have a fabulous vacation!

Most of us made the mistake of buying developer. Then we discover resale, and it's a game changer.

Right! Once you know about resale, your whole view changes
