Trading into Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas - what resort is this N or S? Do they honor codes?

KAA has some pretty dark units in corners with big walls kind of blocking the sun. Our kids had a unit on a high floor, not parking lot view, but a view of the park next to the resort. It was such a dark unit. I would rather have a parking lot view and the light from the outside streaming in during the afternoon.

Here is what I have so far. Are there any unit types missing? Are there dedicated 1BR units? I can't find the code for a 2BR OV.

ZZAC.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Island View..........2BR unit that locks off in to 1BR and studio.
IVMP.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Island View..........1BR portion of 2BR unit.
IVGP.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Island View..........Studio portion of a 2BR unit.
.........Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean View...........2BR unit that locks off in to 1BR and studio.
OVOM.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean View...........1BR portion of 2BR unit.
OVOG.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean View...........Studio portion of a 2BR unit.
ZZAF.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean Front Corner...2BR unit that locks off in to 1BR and studio.
ONBR.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean Front Corner...1BR portion of 2BR unit.
ONLS.....Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.....Ocean Front..........Studio portion of a 2BR unit.
Do you have your ongoing list for the other westin resort? I'm looking for Nanea. Thanks.

Nanea only has two views, ocean front and resort view I believe.
Well then I know what I’m getting with my II exchange lol

I don't, I need to find out from @echino how he was able to get to the page linked in post #21. I can't seem to get to the same list of room accommodations that is provided in his link for different resorts. The list of rooms I am able to get to doesn't include the room codes in the url.

I will let you know how I make out as I am going soon with a Sunday check in and 8pm arrival.
not very optimistic!

It’s a resort view. I just added my confirmation to my bonvoy app.

D is dumpster view.

Seriously, it’s not going to matter unless you’re in one of the units furthest away from the water. Many don’t have ocean views due to the design. However, be sure to request a unit overlooking the pool if possible as that will provide one of the better views available, even if “resort”.

Th D seems to indicate it came out of the Destinations Exchange inventory. I don't think we have seen any Nanea conveyed to the Abound Trust yet, so not really sure where this deposit came from. Perhaps some MVC owned inventory that they decided to deposit into DC/Abound. Or perhaps this is also how they categorize deposits that come from one of the Flex or single-site HomeOption products.

Resort view could be parking lot view at Nanea. Those balconies have an odor from the sewage plant. The units are nice enough. No need to go on the balcony. LOL!

I have found that asking for an inside courtyard view at Nanea is a good ask and has been successful, but beware of being right near the gym for your inside courtyard view because that door starts slamming at 5:45 AM. It's not just a noise, it's a vibration in the wall. Why don't they just prop the door open until 8 AM or something? It's so loud that even our ocean sounds won't cover the noise.

God this sounds awful. Lol maybe I’ll use a retrade haha

Nanea was not well designed; they squeezed too many units on the property. About 15-20% of the Resort View units have Really Bad Views. Don't think parking lot view -- think multi-story parking structure view. Or trucks that go "BEEP-BEEP-BEEP" loudly when backing up at 6:30am.

We stayed at Nanea once on an Interval exchange and felt very fortunate when assigned room 7107 with a bit of ocean view and none of the negatives I describe above. But I would never stay there again on an exchange because of the view risk.

It is worse when using a sampler. You will get the 2 bedrooms by the parking lot for sure. We begged for a high floor as we had 2 toddlers taking naps mid day. It helped some but I probably wouldn't do a sampler again.

Ahhh… the lovely design of Nanea shuttle turnaround goes with the beautiful PL view perfectly. Add in the sewer smell and it’s just pure paradise...

We actually quite like Nanea to 'visit' when we are staying at WKORVN, especially the quiet area back by the ponds and the plunge pools where there is never a problem finding somewhere peaceful for 3-4 of you to to sit/sleep/sunbathe/chat/read a book without being disturbed by the hustle and bustle and chair claiming around the main pools at all 3 resorts. Of course it's nice to be able to take the gentle stroll back to WKORVN and a villa where ear plugs are not generally required.

Do you have resort codes for Westin Princeville? I'm looking at a 1BR with code of OBVI. I linked it into my Marriott account and the description says only "1 Bedroom Villa" with no mention of view.

There are no views at WPORV.

I could have sworn we’ve seen a view from our WPORV villa…

No views here. Move along. :)

(Of course, there are no *deeded* views).

Sure, you could get a great view, or a bad one. But there are not different view designations and no guarantees. There is also a view from your villa at WDW and WKV but the unit code will only tell you the unit size...
