Today I received an email from Tradewinds:

“Important update on Hurricane Dorian and Charters to the Abacos in 2019

Dear Member,

Following the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian to the Abacos Islands, we’re pleased to report that thankfully all TradeWinds crew in the Bahamas are safe and sound. As part of our advanced preparations for the Hurricane season, our Abacos crews sailed south to Emerald Bay Marina in Grand Exuma before conditions turned bad.

Currently, we have very little news about the conditions at Treasure Cay Marina in the Abacos, but we have heard that the damage to the whole of Great Abaco and its surrounding islands has been overwhelming. Alternative plans in other parts of the Bahamas or elsewhere in the Caribbean for our Abacos yachts are being considered, and we will share more information with you once conditions have improved and we know more.

Our thoughts are with the people of the North Western Bahamas in this difficult time.

I just wanted to post an update on the Tradewinds sailing offerings in the Bahamas. The base in the Abacos is not functioning so there is an alternative schedule.

Below is a list of the three offered sailings in the Bahamas. RCI codes are listed.

TradeWinds Nassau (#DQ99)
Embarkation at Palm Cay Marina in Nassau
Disembarkation at Emerald Bay Marina in Great Exuma

TradeWinds Exumas (#DQ39)
Embarkation at Emerald Bay Marina in Great Exuma
Disembarkation at Palm Cay Marina in Nassau

TradeWinds Bahamas (#D577)- while the Abaco base is down the 2020 sails will be out of Great Exuma.
