Traders: Marriott vs. Sheraton

Hi! We used the timeshare in July as a guest of the previous owner since the transfer didn’t happen until August. It was a nice resort and i was happy to check out where I own but i probably won’t go back. Too many other places to go!

I haven’t made an exchange yet though. I guess I’ll be billed in January from VV. I own week 29 every ODD year but I’m hoping to pay my maintenance fee ASAP so I can possibly deposit it and use it for a trade in 2022 and 2023 since I have a 4 BR that i can split. Really hoping to trade into a decent Hawaii timeshare for next October. Probably just me & my husband so it only has to be a 1 bedroom.

In the meantime I did join Interval and I’ve been looking at their inventory of Getaways but haven’t booked anything yet. Maybe going to Florida in the spring. They also gave me an Accommodation Certificate but it is only good for 2 months out on a rolling basis for booking so it will be a very last minute trip if I jump on anything. I have until September to use it so maybe a summer trip somewhere with cheap flights.

I’ll let you know how i make out once i make an official trade later in 2022

Have a look at the faq and buyers guide at the bottom of the page on interval.
There is also an active community there that will be helpful with interval related questions- the general discussion section even has video tutorials on how to make exchanges and place requests.
My number one piece of advice for exchanging with II is to place a request as early as possible- 12-13 months is n’t too early.
My other comment is to realize that everything happening now has been affected by Covid- availability is lower, getaways cost more. Everyone with trips cancelled because of covid are trying to use up weeks and points before they expire.
