Trade into Harborside Atlantis

I have a 2br/2ba lockout, Spring Break week (3/15-3/22) 2009, at Royale Beach & Tennis club in South Padre Island.

I am contemplating deposting it with II, with the purpose of trading for a 2br/2ba Harborside Atlantis week for Summer of 2010. I would like to trade anytime between the last week of June through the first week of August of 2010.

Any thoughts on the likely success of this trade, or suggestions on how to maximize my success would be greatly appreciated.
 
If you have any doubts and enjoy going to your own resort you might do a Request first.

This is only way we ever try exchange.

This way you put your request on the II books and if they don't come through you can pull your unit back and use it!

I don't think your chances are great, but you never know with airfares increasing. Harborside is a very popular resort within the Starwood network, and those units that are deposited to II have a 3 day preference period for other Starwood owners, so there aren't many weeks left over for those that don't own Starwood.
 
Its tough to get Atlantis in summer even with a high quality resort. I would say you have nothing to lose by putting in a request but your chances for getting a two bedroom are probably very slim. If you can take a 1 bedroom or a studio you will increase your chances.
 
I've never seen Starwood deposit prime summer weeks -- just the very end of August and September. I suppose anything is possible in this economy, but I'd have a backup plan in place.
