Strange - my first post disappeared. I was approached by the above firm (toptravellocations dot com and i wanted to see if anyone has worked with them.

If this message is in the wrong forum would appreciate guidance on where to properly post.

What did this company promise to do for you and for how much money? What are you hoping to accomplish by using this company?

Thanks for the explanation on the missing post.

What they do is pay you to use your getaway bookings with Interval international. So you pay the Interval getaway fee for a 1 week stay, and they are offering to pay $1500 on top of that to let them rent it out for convention visitors or other tourists in the area.

They seem to have a large inventory of these discounted weeks that they have acquired available on their website

To answer the second question, I’m hoping to recover some of my maintenance fees by being able to sell Interval weeks

Known Scam. Call it BS. Don't do it.

There are dozens of other similar posts.

Bottom Line. You or anyone else is not permitted by RCI or Interval Rules to rent out getaway or extra vacation weeks. Don't believe a word these people say. They are liars and their pants are indeed on fire!

They will take your money and you will not ever see a dime of compensation.

It's a scam. Their rental weeks are fake ads that never rent, they want upfront money from you and will never rent anything. It's also against Interval rules for you to rent weeks you book.

note that having your first post be a link to another company will flag the post as spam. how many red flags do they raise?

The first one - contacted me out of the blue, but seem to have knowledge of my Interval membership.

Too good to be true is debatable, their business model seems to make sense and creatively taps a market in a way that benefits you and them. They basically are brokers for discounted getaway weeks rented out thru Interval International. They pay you as an owner and turnaround and rent the week at a less-than-market rate for corporate bookings of convention events.

If this were possible we would all be doing it. Don't fall for it!

This answers another question I had - I couldn’t remember all the rules that interval has regarding letting someone else use your benefit.

That was definitely odd - I was thinking why do they have such a massive inventory on their website and they’re talking to me like they really need this particular week in this particular place. They do have an answer though - they do mass bookings for corporate rentals.

👖🔥 averted, thanks!

the business model is a scam, there are no rentals being made for corporate bookings...nor from your exchange extra/bonus weeks.

Corporations book hotels, not timeshares.

Hi @martinrl

Everything they told you was a lie.
If they know you own Hyatt, (employee sold the owner list to them), they know that Inteval comes with a Hyatt ownership.

They always use a name that sounds like Interval something or RCI something to confuse the potential victim. They make you think it's a legit company calling.
No one has any Getaway weeks in their account. No one.

Getaways is a marketing term used by Interval for cash rentals: Weeks that they have on their site which they rent out for cash.

The whole scam is predicated on the victim giving them a large amount of cash UP FRONT. Then they move on to next victim. You don't give them weeks (you don't have any to give) and they don't rent weeks.
Any legit rental broker would take a fee from the proceeds of the rental - not an upfront fee.

Do not answer phone calls from unknown numbers. You can call Interval and they will tell you this is a known scam. Someone reports it here at least once a week.

I received several calls from unknown Coral Gables 321 area code numbers. They actually left voicemails (one of them sounded like it was AI generated). I called back and was asked if it was regarding Wyndham/RCI or Hyatt/II. I hung up after hearing it's about getaway weeks. Lots of background noise so big call center running this scam.
