Top Table, London's Equivalent of The Open Table Restaurant Booking System

TopTable works fairly well, and helped us find a few restaurants etc. FWIW, if you want a great Indian restaurant be sure to go to http://www.veeraswamy.com/ - not inexpensive by any means, very nice, and absolutely delicious. We had to go twice in a week.

Funny you should mention. I used the site for the 1st time to book a table at the Claridge's (Gordon Ramsey's restaurant) a few weeks ago and everything was pretty easy. Dinner is in two weeks. Will report back.

It's also good for same day reservations. I used it with my iPhone while out in London for the same evening. Just beware of some restaurants that cater to tourists, of course (we went to one by mistake and it was not a great experience, and similarly priced to excellent places).

Thank you for your input.

I'd love to go to Claridge's, but was always afraid of dropping big bucks for a meal and being disappointed. Please let us know how it it is.

Never thought of it for same-day reservations. Great idea.

I love good Indian food and will use this advice.

When we're in London at the Allen House, we have breakfast in our unit (full kitchen) after shopping at the near by Marks & Spencer or Tesco's, lunch either at the place we're visiting (Tower of London, Hampton Court, Kew Gardens and The V & A have very good eateries), pack a little lunch in our backpacks or grab a sandwich at Pret a Manger.

I have used Top Table quite a few times in London. No bad experiences.

If you want to experience Claridges, try the bar. Not cheap but very posh. The also do a High Tea but not my cuppa. ;)

Cheers

It's a business trip :)
I would like to do high tea but we won't be back in London until after 5 pm Friday and I fly back home the next day. Will have to try next time. Clarige's contract with GR expires this summer. We'd like to experice before it's no longer a GR restaurant.

Thanks for the info. :whoopie: Will use this site for our trip to London this summer.
