I'm so sorry to hear this. Mr. Hillerman's work has always entertained and inspired me, with his appreciation for the Navajo culture and all things Southwest.

I was sad to read that, too. I've enjoyed many of his books, and loved the way he incoporated so much of the southwestern culture into them. They were good stories, but I always felt I learned something, too.

Thanks for posting this. I had not heard the sad news. I frequently borrowed his audio books from the library to ward off boredom on long flights or car trips. Worked like a charm every time.
