Been approached by Divi timeshare management to switch over to a point system and Interval
Will managed. Not to sure this is a great idea because I will not be insured I will get a week in prime time in Aruba. Does anyone have and knowledge about dealing with interval? Your thoughts?
Thanks

If you already have what you like and you use it, stay with your fixed week.

We switched to Wyndham points and I do not regret the move because (A) we had two (2) fixed winter week units the same week at the same resort (which was great when we had guests joining us, but not great when we didn't...) and (B) because we now have much greater flexibility and our home resort is only a one-hour drive from home so now we can go for a few days or a weekend or a week-long trip (winter or summer).

The flexibility for us is wonderful, but it came with (A) higher MF and (B) a steep learning curve before we could get what we wanted...you definitely have to "learn" to use points or you lose some of the value...a fixed-week unit is "plug and play" simple...

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

I would suggest to keep what you have. Many Divi owners declined to“upgrade” to the Points or Vacation Club. Yes, you will not be guaranteed you will get a winter week in Aruba. If you want to add a bedroom, there is a fee. If you want to change to another Divi resort, there is a fee. If you want to change the season, there is a fee.

I’m happy with my Divi RCI Points contracts. They were real cheap and you can find some on eBay or with Sumday occasionally.

If you upgrade with Divi to their new club/points you have the option of joining Interval. Interval seems to have a better quality of resorts. The older contracts are affiliated with RCI.
