We are looking for a timeshare near virginia beach. We would like to be about a half hour from beach in a nice timeshare with nice pool area. I also wouldn't mind being closer to virginia beach as long as it has a good pool area.

My suggestion to you is to stay in Williamsburg, Virginia. Great place with tons of great resorts with great pools. Only about a 45 minute drive into Virginia Beach.

Good Luck!! :hi:

To my knowledge, there is the strip at Virginia Beach, there is Outer Banks, and there is Williamsburg. There is basically nothing in between or even close.

Turtle Cay is across the street from the ocean with the best Va. Beach T/S pool. The outer banks would probably not have great pools and be about 1 hour and 20 min. away. Williamsburg would have the best pools by far but 45 minutes would be a hard fast drive and summer traffic could easily double that.

Are you exchanging thru II or RCI ?
II Resorts located in VA Beach and within walking distance to the ocean front.
Turtle Cay
Beach Quarters
Villas at the Boardwalk
Ocean Beach Club

II Resorts within a 45 minute to an one (1) hour drive to VA Becah ocean front
Marriot's Manor Club, Williamsburg Plantation, Wyndham Governor's Green, King's Creek Plantaion (located right beside Busch Garden and Water Country
USA theme parks), Greensprings Vacation Resort, The Historic Powhatan Resort and Colonial Crossing of Willimasburg.

RCI Resorts located in VA Beach and within walking distance to the ocean front
Artrium Resort, Barclay Towers, The Colony, The Four Sails, Ocean Key Resort, and Ocean Sands.

RCI Resorts within a 45 minute to an one (1) hour to VA Beach ocean front are
Wyndham/Fairfield Kingsgate & Patriots Place,King's Creek Plantation, Greensprings Vacation Resort, The Historic Powhatan Resort.

This is just a sample of resorts in the area.

I agree, you should double that if traveling from Williamsburg to VA Beach

Williamsburg would have the best pools by far but 45 minutes would be a hard fast drive and summer traffic could easily double that.

If staying in Williamsburg, I would definitely allow 1-1/2 hours, especially during summer months, although rush hour traffic during any season could make that way more than 45 minutes. If the beach was my main motivation for coming to the area, I would stay closer to the beach. I have stayed in a few Williamsburg timeshares and the pools weren't phenomenal.

If day tripping to Va. Beach, you may consider the public parking garage at the Hilton. It is across the street from the beach between 30th and 31st Sts. and there are public restrooms on the boardwalk at 30th.
