The Original Timeshare Website Celebrates a Major Milestone Helping Owners Buy, Sell, and Give Away Timeshares Without Commissions or Large Upfront Fees

JACKSONVILLE, FL — May 18, 2026Timeshare Users Group (TUG), the very first timeshare website on the internet and one of the largest owner communities in the industry, announced today that the TUG Marketplace has officially surpassed $50 million dollars in successfully completed owner-to-owner timeshare resales.

Founded in 1993 by a U.S. military veteran (go Navy!) and still family owned and operated today, TUG has spent more than three decades helping timeshare owners navigate an industry often filled with confusion, misinformation, and expensive upfront fee scams.

Unlike many traditional resale companies that charge large upfront fees regardless of results, the TUG Marketplace was built around a simple philosophy: owners helping owners.

The platform allows owners to directly buy, sell, rent, or even give away timeshares with:
  • Zero commissions
  • No large upfront fees
  • Direct owner-to-owner communication
  • Transparent pricing
  • Access to one of the largest timeshare owner communities online

“Reaching $50 million in successful owner-to-owner resales is an incredible milestone for our community,” said Brian Rogers of TUG. “For over 30 years, TUG members have proven that timeshare owners do not need to pay thousands of dollars upfront to sell or transfer their ownerships. The resale market works best when owners can connect directly with each other.”

The milestone highlights a dramatic contrast between retail timeshare pricing and the real-world resale market, where many ownerships sell for pennies on the dollar — and in some cases are even transferred for free.

Over the years, TUG has become widely known for educating owners about:

  • Avoiding timeshare resale and exit scams
  • Understanding true resale values
  • Renting directly from owners
  • Using official resort surrender programs
  • Rescinding overpriced developer purchases
  • Exchanging and maximizing ownership value

In addition to the marketplace milestone, TUG’s forums have also helped owners report more than $25 million dollars in canceled timeshare purchases and refunds after discovering resale pricing realities during their rescission periods.

Today, TUG continues to operate as an independent, family-run business focused on consumer education and owner advocacy.

“Our mission has never changed,” Rogers added. “Provide honest information, connect owners directly, and help people avoid unnecessary fees and scams. Thirty-plus years later, owners helping owners is still working.”
