It sounds good and I guess they're trying but the consensus here is that the effort is futile. Any measures that truly protect consumers would sound the death knell of the timeshare industry. We need to find some way to accomplish one without causing the other.

This is more important than you think! Politicians keeps stats of folks writing or calling in, and then legislate on this. Contact your Congress Rep, both Senators, and Governor.
 
Time for me to dust off my TUG inactive cap. I'm going to schedule meetings with my Congress person and Senators. Just like how Diamond CEO Cloobeck supported Swalwell, need to counter act the TS lobbyists. We've saved dozens of millions for Americans, but this passage might be our most important legacy.
 
if just one person a day chose to email their elected officials, this really would be an amazing law to get on the books.
 
If they grant us an audience, who wants to accompany me to meet Senators Van Hollen and Alsobrooks on this issue?

disappointing that I didnt get even an auto-reply from any of them...

wonder if the industry donates to their campaigns....if any senators would get money from the timeshare industry it sure would be florida senators!
 
not sure i have the energy to go down this rabbit hole tonight...will revisit....but man arda seems to give money to SOOOO many politicians!

@TUGBrian If I get a 5 min meeting with the Senators Alsobrooks or Van Hollen or Congresswoman Delaney, what are you comfortable with my saying on behalf of 100k+ TUG members.
 
anything that exposes them to the predatory tactics of both the retail sales side, and the upfront fee exit/cancellation side would be fine by me!

however in the course of this topic as we already have a bill in both chambers, simply the notification of the bills themselves and what they are for (consumer protection from deliberate predatory sales tactics) would do nicely!
