Timeshare Rescue

Our company has been a member of the Denver BBB for many years, and I don't remember anything called, Platinum Accredidation.

Any company can become a member of the BBB after being in business for one year. They just have to pay a fee. I don't understand why the BBB would let them in without having a year in business, which appears to be the case.

They have only been in business for a few months and have already had two complaints. We have never had a complaint and are GOLD star award members of the BBB.

How odd. I guess the BBB was hard up for some cash, to take a company before it's been in business for a year.

Something's fishy. The link from the BBB to Timeshare Rescue's profile doesn't work. The grammar on Timeshare Rescue's site is atrocious.

The BBB website just says that they are an accredited member and gives a start date of 3/28/08 for that membership and no ratings.

The Platinum stuff does not appear at all on the BB site.

TR claims 2,300 TS transactions in 12 months, that's about 800K at $3,500 each...there's money in it for sure...

This TR is a spawn of the other TR (former employee?), I hear that it is not adequately staffed to handle the volume like the original TR is.

Why does anyone pay any attention to the BBB at all, it's the biggest scam out there. You PAY for your ratings!!! If you actually do some research on it, paying members get satisfactory ratings even with complaints while non members have unsatisfactory ratings with less complaints. And that is comparing similar companies with the same staff and business volume.
Another thing, even if you look up a rating for your local cable company there will be numerous complaints, does that mean you're going to not use them for your TV services or switch? probably not so why do people pay so much attention to the bbb, I am at a loss

That is not true at all. Being a member of the BBB is supposed to be a message to customers that you will go through arbitration, provided as a servcie by the BBB, to resolve issues. Plus, a lack of complaints says volumes about a company. They provide a service, and it is invaluable to our customers to know that we have zero complaints.

I know a company in our same industry (of our lilttle chimney cleaning business) that was kicked off of the BBB, due to numerous complaints.

The BBB is highly respected, but this particular company already has issues, so they should dump them as soon as possible.

How cynical are people to think that the BBB is a scam?

Good point, Keith.

I was just talking to our BBB rep the other day, and she was saying that they have been inundated with complaints about a particular landscaping/ lawn maintenance company and, after fielding about two dozen complaints, they forwarded the problem with the state's Attorney General's office. This is another thing that the BBB does, it actually is a middleground for a scam operation to be discovered. Without the BBB, the Attorney General's office would be absolutely inundated with every little complaint out there.

The people at the BBB are really nice, always offering a sympathetic ear.

I know of a few companies who are bitter about the BBB, but they have been KICKED OFF! ;) So their companies were not taking care of their issues, as a good company should. We get complaints all the time with our business, at least two a year, but we take care of the complaints before they escalate to the BBB.

I think everyone here is missing the big thing on this "news release"

The BBB did not issue the press release, Timeshare rescue submitted it to that site.

I can click "submit release" and issue a press release regarding what I ate for breakfast today.

Timeshare rescue did this simply to have a positive link pop up when someone is doing a google search on them.

With my moderator hat on...

Let's play nicely. Please.

Reasonable people can and often do disagree, as is the case here regarding the credibility of the BBB. It's okay to present a particular side of the issue. What is not okay is ignoring the BBS "Be Courteous" rule by, for example, making insulting insinuations about another's post or calling someone else's position a "crazy notion".

If you believe someone has posted in manner not in keeping with the Posting Rules, please click on the red triangle to the left of the post to report it and we will review it. However, please do not take matters into your own hands by violating the rules when you post.

In short, please follow the rules or skip to another thread!
