Timeshare resale hilton

Am considering purchasing a Hilton resale in Hawaii.. want to be able tolerable rhe world within Hilton and/or use the platinum week over new years each year.. what are the odds I’ll be satisfied if all I want is the one week per year and don’t need the other Bennie’s that come with tradition Hilton timeshare?

Be careful what you buy, Xmas and NYE weeks (51,52) are event weeks in Hawaii, so owners of those weeks will be reserved automatically, if you don't own it you will be constantly looking and hoping for a cancellation. The only exceptions are Bay Club and Ocean Tower Waikoloa, Hawaii then Grand Islander, Oahu.
 
If I’m willing to trade my grand Waikikian for any other Hilton resort on Oahu, do I stand a better chance of getting my New Year’s Eve week?
 
I don’t necessarily need to stay at the grand Waikiki Inn, I just wanna stay in Hawaii on week 52… On Oahu specifically in a Hilton
 
The only way to get week 52 every year is to purchase that Event week.

Grand Islander is the tower at Hilton Hawaiian Village that doesn't have the event week 51/52, so you might be able to book a club reservation right at 6 months before.

Owning GW doesn't give you any special reservation priority.
