Having never been to Hawaii and in need of some help I thought I'd turn to the experts. A friend is attending a wedding next door to this JW Marriott Ihilani resort on Oahu. What timeshare would be the best choice for her to rent for a week in August given this location? TIA!

This one is easy. Marriott's Ko Olina is < 300m away. And the walk is on a paved pathway along the beach.

Just to add a note - there are no other TS's in that area.

Thanks very much!

Thanks very much. Since that will be pricey, can you recommend anything within a half hours drive say?

I see some things on rci extra vacations for under a grand and wondered if they may work...TIA

Other than Hawai'ian Princess (mentioned in a preceding post) the only other timeshares on O'ahu are in Wa'ikiki. In fact, there except for the area around the Honolulu airport, there are very few hotels between Wa'ikiki and the Ihilani resort area.

My suggestion would be to book a hotel or bed and breakfast that has no cancellation penalty (as a backup) and then watch the rentals at Ko Olina a week or two before your arrival. Given the current economic conditions, I'll bet you will find something at Ko Olina at a very cheap rate.

Great advice, all. thanks. I had wondered about the possibility of a cheaper last minute scenario. Thanks again!
