But did she know how to turn if off or just unplugged that radio alarm clock at 5AM.
Well, she mentioned that she turned it off, that her husband continued to sleep, and that she couldn't because it got her adrenaline pumping. I didn't ask her method of stopping the alarm. I'd best go check my folio to make sure I'm not buying Welk a new alarm clock, eh?

I must say that the dishwashers that have been in our units at NCV the last couple of years are fantastic. The whole inside is stainless steel and they clean wonderfully.

i stayed @ Welk resort this past summer and have never seen a more disgusting dishwasher. The more we ran it the better it got so not sure what its problem was!

We had a dishwasher that flooded the kitchen. The problem was a bad seal.

So, they replaced it with a brand new one. It overflowed too and left the dishes with specs, like the OP mentioned. It turned out that when they installed the new one, they forgot to remove a paper advertisement placed in the filter.
I always run vinegar through the coffee maker when I arrive

cups still had coffee stains on them. I pulled out the bottom rack to get at the filter. When I pulled it out I was shocked and a bit grossed out! It was totally caked with 'gunk'. It looked like paper mache
My word, what do people put in there? Paper cups? I think we went over 6 yrs without checking our filter once. When I checked it, it had a small amount of what looked like threads, which was probably dust that kept getting in there and sticking together over years to resemble threads. That is it.

I'm thinking maybe paper plates? Or maybe paper cups? It was definitely some type of paper that had been wet that was caked on the filter. I have also discovered that the yellow liquid in the rinse aid dispenser was dishwashing liquid. I opened the dishwasher as soon as the cycle finished the other day and the whole bottom was soap bubbles. I opened the rinse aid dispenser and stuck my baby finger in to get some of the yellow liquid -it was slippery just like dishwashing liquid. I put even more of the rinse aid I brought from home in there and hopefully diluted it quite a bit. I mentioned it to the front desk and the guy said people put liquid dish soap in the dishwasher soap dispensers all the time even though they supply dishwasher powder in a marked container.

Are there that many people who dont know how to properly use a dishwasher or are some folks just jerks with other people's things?

Passepartout, it is hard to believe that a maintenance team wouldn't have changing filters on their list. It makes you wonder what else they aren't maintaining correctly.

One time when we checked into our timeshare, we saw that the cover to the AC filter had been left off. We could see the filter had not been changed in a long time and there was this really thick layer. We called maintenance and they changed it immediately. However, if the door had not been left off, we would have been coughing and suffering the whole week and would not have known why.

I can't imagine there's masses of people who like to inconvenience themselves to prank others... no wait - maybe I can. I can't logically understand it in a situation like this (i.e. I have no reason to want to get revenge on random next person staying at a unit).

I'd still bet it's more that people don't know how to use something, and won't call for instructions. Some of my first timeshare stays in 2023 had little booklets with how the equipment worked, but the last 5 or so have either had nothing or hid it so well I never found it. I had to text HGVC Flamingo to ask how you turn on the icemaker in the freezer. To that end, I apparently caught the last gasp of getting a little folder when you checked in telling you the check-out procedures. You know, take out trash, put towels all in one bathroom, run dishwasher, etc. I guess I'm mostly assuming to take out the trash now - again if HGVC had instructions I never ran into them. At a Worldmark you hand to notice and scan a QR code somewhere - it was literally luck I noticed it. I'm mostly just doing the trash and dishwasher run based on "history" but TBH eventually it has to lead to more housekeeping work because people just don't know. And I know I'd be pissed if I got dinged because they never told me to do something so I didn't...

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought it was about "Time-Travelling Dishwashers."
Think that's too far fetched?
In the movie, "Fetching Cody" (2005), a recliner wrapped in Christmas lights travels in time.
Perhaps I need to lay off the margaritas. .;)

This thread inspired me to clean dishwasher filter again. I’ve done it numerous times, quite simple. But I went decades never cleaning them in other houses I lived in. Didn’t even know I should.

We’ve never cleaned a dishwasher filter. On the other hand I always “wash the dishes before I wash the dishes”. At the old folks home we have an annual maintenance appointment where they come in and change smoke alarm batteries, furnace filters etc and checking appliances is done at the same time.
