I've read TUG's advice on selling timeshares and will utilize the suggested venues to advertise and hopefully sell my 2 timeshare weeks in Spain. I emailed the three closers mention in TUG Advice article--Timeshare Transfer, JRA Services and Timeshare Closing Svcs--asking if they handled closings for timeshares in Spain. All said no. Are there any TUGGERs who have sold their timeshare in Europe (specifically Spain) who used a closer authorized to do business in Spain??? Thanks for any tips or advice

Not being a smart aleck, but who handled the closing when you purchased? Seems that you could easily identify and use them now in seller role?

Take it from someone who has tried those companies, have ttt (TUG member name) perform your closing, unless you need escrow services. Timeshare Transfer is an okay company, but stay away from Timeshare Closing Services. They took 8 months to close a property for us, and the excuse (at least the supervisor was honest) was that it was sitting on someone's desk for months, with nothing recorded, nothing done for that long. It finally did close a few weeks ago, but we bought it on November 27th. Rick was livid, to say the least, when he called after five months, and they still didn't even have the deed recorded, he was asking for someone who was in charge of personnel. They also recorded a deed in the wrong county in CO for another owner at my resort.

I have purchased at least 5 properties utilizing Timeshare Closing Services. With the first closing a few years ago, I couldn't have been happier.
I've noticed a steady degradation in the quality of their service over the years. They've become slow... I'm still in escrow on a property I started the process on about 4 months ago. I email and call almost weekly, and they have some excuse as to why it's not finished-- "didn't submit enough $ to the county", "filed incorrectly."
[It should be recorded this week, as their last correspondence said they were sending it DHL overnight.]

same experience with timeshare closing services

I purchased a new TS 5 months ago, and I still didn't get a new deed (copied) yet! I call them (timeshare closing services) every 2 weeks to check what is going on. They said my status was still same as a month ago and they promised to find out what was wrong, but didn't hear anything back from them. So I have to call them over and over again.
Last time when I purchased TS in Virginia, Timeshare Outlet, Inc did excellent work for me. They sent me e-mails to notify which step was in process, they sent me a copy of new deed sooner than I thought and whole closing process took about 2 months, and then they called me later to make sure that if I received new ownership letter from the resort. It was excellent service. Maybe you can ask timeshare outlet, inc if they can handle your closing.

Hmmm...

It is so funny. I just checked e-bay timeshare sales (Spain), and the seller is using Timeshare closing services for closing process.

Theo, all details were handled by the resort management in Spain. I was back in the US. I will email the resort and ask for a recommendation however. Yumdrey, I don't know which seller you are referring to but my timeshares are not on ebay or anywhere else. I haven't advertised them on any site yet. From the other comments does not sound like Timeshare Closing Services are the people to use, even it they do Spain closings.

I have used Timeshare Closing Services twice, once very recently. I have no complaints with them.

Gator, I didn't mention that you are the seller on ebay. There's a seller on ebay for similar item, and seller is using timeshare colsing services as closing company. You said timeshare closing services didn't want to handle TS in spain for you, but this same company is involving with TS in spain now.
I NEVER recommend timeshare closing services as closing company, but had a pleasant experience with timeshare outlet, inc. before.

I have purchased 2 from TSC without any problems, I did have to check with resort and throughly read paperwork and did find some discrepancies but they were quickly rectified. I am no win process ot a third thru them, a delay was on my end, so it has been since Oct. and not closed yet, but as I say the dealy was on my end, so we'll see what occurs now, I believe it is in resort notification and will post when completed.
