Cabo San Lucas or Cozumel. Cabo seems to have nicer properties for time share.

2) Do you want to visit your home resort at least half the time, or do you want to trade more than half the time?

Cabo/Cozumel, anywhere in the Caribbean, Florida Keys, Orlando, Hawaii

4) How many people do you usually travel with?

5) Can you travel any time, or are you locked into the school schedule?

Any time

6) Can you make firm plans 12 or more mos. in advance?

Yes, but prefer 6 month range. I would prefer floating, but my main concern is that I would buy into a resort that had no availability for floating weeks. This seems to be a problem with Villa Del Arco, e.g.

7) Can you vacation for a full week at a time?

Yes

8) What level of accommodations do you prefer on a scale of 1 to 5 stars?

4 stars+

9) How much can you afford to spend upfront, without financing?

$5k - $10k

10) How much can you afford to spend every year for a maintenance fee that will come due right after Christmas, and increase each year?

$800.00 is preferred. I could go to $1200-$1500, though. I am concerned about runaway MF in an RTU.

11) Are you a detail oriented planner?

Yes. Very.

12) Do you understand that once you buy a timeshare, it may be very difficult to sell or give away, and you are responsible for all fees, until you do?

Hi! Any advice would be appreciated. I have been looking for a few months. My husband and I travel every 2-3 months to the beach. It might make sense to buy a week at a resort or condo, with a 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom big enough to sleep 4 comfortably. So, I am actively looking.

My favorite vacation place is Intercontinental Presidente in Cozumel. I was finally ready to sit down with their vacation club in November, but they did away with it!

I recently went to a UVC sales pitch at Secrets in Playa Del Carmen. Honestly? The pitch was not bad. The salesman was nice. The property was lovely. We almost bought, but decided the math needed to be reviewed. I made them give me a copy of the actual contract ahead of time, which they weren't happy about. Ultimately, I didn't think Secrets was entirely right for me. But it has now gotten me looking about in earnest.

We are headed to our WorldMark t.s. in Cabos San Jose at the end of April, but I also have one in Cancun that is very nice but more expensive to travel to from Idaho than the one at Cabos. This will be our 3rd time to San Jose (MX). They have great golf courses but quite expensive.

I am looking for someone to sell my Cancun timeshare (or a buyer) as we can't afford both - going into retirement. It is a member of Sunset Group and Sunset Royale and Sunset Lagoon, both in Cancun are also listed with RCI. We have had it since 2006 I think. I get offers to sell my timeshare several times a month but I treat them as spam since I don't know who is reputable.

I would be interested in hearing from someone with success with selling their shares. I have been talking to the one endorsed by Glenn Beck and Dave Ramsey but they want $3400 up front and 6-12 months to sell it. My insurance company suggested I talk to a company called Time Share and I don't know how they are to work with.

Any sound advice appreciated.

Do not pay anyone an upfront fee; they have zero incentive to sell your property once they have your money. Reputable brokers are paid from the sale proceeds.

Search this board for "upfront" fees; you will see dozens of horror stories.

Note: an advertising fee of <$50 or so is not an upfront fee, at least by my definition.

My advise today as compare to 1985 when I bought my first timeshare is why
buy when there are so many different weeks and locations available by just
clicking on Tug or redweek? Why buy TS X and in 5 years get tired or like me
I traveled for 15 years among various Marriotts and still do, but then I had to have a Westin for St. John, and a Hyatt for Carmel. Easy to buy and not so easy
to give away. Ha Ha

Best part is I travel now more than ever.

I believe you can list with Time Share Nation for no up front fee. But- you have to be willing to get rid of your timeshare for free.

Hi, I literally, today, just got rid of my Broadway Plantation time share through TimeShare Nation. They do NOT ask for any upfront fee and charge you only after the time share deed is transferred.

I also got rid of my Florida time share 2 years ago. We do not use them anymore and could not sell them no matter how or where we tried. Yes, you do pay them a fee, AFTER the deed is transferred, it was less than $1000. To me it was worth it instead of paying the yearly fees when I don't use the resort anymore. I was very satisfied with them both times I used them.

I would advise if you don't mind paying a fee, (less than the other companies that I had found), go ahead and give them a try. They provide you with the person's name who the deed is transferring to and I also was contacted by my resort to verify my yearly use. It was easy and the least expensive that I found and done in under a month.

Still, I hated to pay a fee to get rid of my timeshares, but in the long run, it was worth it, no more noose around my neck for the annual fees.

I have always been able to gift the timeshares I no longer want by myself. If I ever found myself having difficulty for under $1000 doesn’t sound too bad paying for the service. You paid this after they found the buyer? Did that include your closing costs? Is it a flat fee?
