Time to Buy?

I'm seeing NCV Gold sell lately for 22-27% of current Developer ($30,000) on eBay. I'm itching to buy but I know that maintenance fees are coming up and there should be more sellers. Some have predicted here that prices will continue to fall over the next year due to the economy.

Should I wait for lower prices or make the move now? Just wondering how much lower prices can get. Is this a window of opportunity that may close when Marriott starts exercising ROFR again?

Thanks,

Koko

One can never time the market perfectly. If you see prices you like now and are willing to pay then go for it. Prices may go up, they may go down. Marriott may also start exercising ROFR more also. You never know. I will probably wait a little longer as I think prices may drop more, I may get burned though and kick myself later. It is a decision that only you can make.

Great advice. The prices for Plat are now $3K- $ 4K less than they have been for much of the last 3 years ($18K -> $15K-$14K)

I might offer $13K and be very happy that I saved over $5K off last years resale prices.

I'm not sure how far the gold season prices have dropped but they averaged about $13K last year, so $9K - $10K might be in the ballpark today

The last three NCV Golds sold on eBay for $8200, $7900, and $6600 for an average of $7567!

WOW!!

I knew that the prices were down, I didn't know that had dropped that much.

Personally, I think the gold season is a much better value than platinum and at that price maybe I'll pull the trigger.

In a bad economy value is doubly depressed by an abundance of desperate sellers and a lack of frantic buyers. Be greedy when others are fearful; Be fearful when others are greedy -- Warren Buffet. I suspect that others are fearful at the moment.

If you were in the market for more than one, you could buy one every couple of months. If you're just buying one unit, it seems like the prices are an absolute steal. Sometimes it doesn't make much difference whether you buy at the absolute bottom. Either side of the curve is still good enough to save (or make) a lot of money.

Yes, it is a great time to buy. Even if the TS market goes lower, once Marriott starts executing its ROFR again, the lower prices wont help you any. Marriott will see an oportunity to buy these units cheaper than they can build them. IMO
