I recently bought a time share. yeah, it was dumb, but we were sucked in. Now we want out of it because these people nickle and dime us to death. We found a group on line called Centerstone Group. They want money up front which seems terrible, but we really dont want to have to pay Holiday Inn the $17000 that we bought in for. Any suggestions or ideas and does anyone have experience with this Centerstone Group?

It's just another SCAM! There are NO legitimate exit companies. Learn from your first mistake - DON'T DO IT!!!

exit company strategy for getting you out of a timeshare you still owe on is for you to default. this strategy costs you nothing to do yourself.

I wish, Its a bit of a long story. We sent in a letter to cancel but according to the time share, it was a day late. It was during the hurricane there a while back and we think it was that that may have caused the delay

Every single timeshare exit company is a scam. Every one of them. If you give them any money you are setting it on fire.

There must be more to the story because the rescission is valid as of the date of your mailing, not the date of receipt. Of course, if you had no proof of mailing that would present a problem.

As others have said, exit companies are a scam. They are very successful in the easy ones (those with deed back programs already in place for owners, programs the exit company doesn’t want you to know about) but anything difficult is put on the stall program. Eventually, it will foreclose and exit companies have denied refunds with foreclosures because they argue they got you out.

It isn't the date they receive it that counts. If you have proof that it was postmarked before the rescission window closed, they MUST process it.
When/where did you sign the contract, and what date is on the postmark? For $17,000 I'd want to be sure.
