What views are the best at Marriott Timber Lake resort 3 Bed unit?
Mountain, Pool, City or gondola? Also which is the best building?

Do you mean the Marriott Timber Lodge in Lake Tahoe? It sits on South Lake Tahoe Blvd, so I don't think any of the units except maybe the ones on the very top floor would have a lake view.

Many would have pool, mountain, or gondola views. I have stayed in one of these, buy personally I think mountain views in the Alpine building would be nicer. However, both the Sierra and Alpine building have nice pool views.

I am speculating, though, because I always stay next door at the Grand Residence. There are a few Timber Lodge owners on here that can give you better advice, I'm betting.

Sorry, I meant Timber Lodge in So Lake Tahoe

I am staying at the Marriott Timber Lodge in So Lake Tahoe.

In my opinion, the only BAD view is of the transportation center -- the place where the buses stop. And some of the rooms see only the 'underpinnings' of the Gondola. I doubt if the lake is viewable from any room -- or even from the rooftop for that matter.

Nevertheless, we are owners there and go up nearly every year.

One more thing...we usually request highest floor at most locations because I am sound sensitive and don't like to hear people walking above. However, there are rooms at TL on the top floor that are tucked into nooks that prevent the master bedroom from having a separate stall shower -- so if this is important, be sure to inquire about it.

We're at Timber Lodge now and get the same villa each summer, a 2BR that overlooks the pool in the middle of the Alpine building with a balcony on the second floor. We are very close to the stairway and go down one flight of stairs to get to the pool or the back exit. It's very convenient, has a great view of the entire pool area, can see the gondola, and you never need to get on the elevator. None of the condos have a view of Lake Tahoe. Regarding 3BR units, there is a stack of 3BR's with a balcony next to us, and I think they would be a great choice. The 3BR's are 7327 (second floor), 7427 (3rd floor). Not many units at Timber Lodge have balconies and I think one overlooking the pool is best.

Robert,
Thank you for the information. I am requesting the units you suggested. Is the third floor unit the top floor? I heard to stay away from top floor units. Also, if you don't mind sharing which 2 Bed unit you prefer. I return again during Labor Day weekend and would like to request a preferred 2 Bed unit. Thank you again.

The second floor of the Alpine building (7227) is actually the ground floor whereas the second floor of the Sierra building on the lobby side of the pool is the second floor because the resort is built on the side of a hill that has a gentle slope. So, 7327 is the second floor and I think the 4th floor (7527) is the top floor. I've not seen the top floor but have heard that you don't want it because the ceilings are lower. In my opinion, there's no real benefit to being higher than the second floor unless you like walking up and down additional flights of stairs or walking to the elevators at the end of the hallway. The view is essentially the same from the 2nd to 4th floors as best I can tell.
