Oh my goodness, what a sad press conference with him announcing his retirement. No doubt it's time, but he's one of the good ones who always played his heart out simply because he loved the game. He can walk away with his head held high, with the gratitude and respect of millions of Sox fans who watched him happily do whatever the owners and managers asked of him. Good, good guy. I'll miss him.

As a Twins fan, I won't miss him at all. That 65 mph knuckleball always seemed to bewilder and confound the batters. What an amazing career.

Will miss him too ~ could always count on a great game. Yes, it was time to go while he was still great, wish him all the best.

Being a Yankees fan I will not miss him. Having watched him in the minors converting to a pitcher I will miss seeing him play.

Who's Tim Wakefield?

MLB Pitcher who used to play for the Red Sox.

Did anyone see that Gary Carter passed. Sad news. :(

Who's Tim Wakefield?

Great knuckleball pitcher -- sorry to see him retire -- fun to watch!

And no...never married to Heather Mills.
